Great. Just subscribed to the newsletter. I like the UI though. Quite slick for a 3 weeks old beta app.

A backend without user management is not worth it in 2016.
Re:Why Supporting Your Competitors is Good for Business on Monday June 24, 2013 @11:50PM (#5937404)
- Support your good competitors, not the bad ones.

- I agree on supprting competitors in an early stage market, as long there is enough beers and pizzas for everybody. In a mature market, things are different, take your time and your ressources to support...your team and your customers.

Ask HN: What is good swag in Hackathons?

As I go more and more in hackathons, I see very often bas swag, stuff that I will never use after, or completely useless. Sponsors are throwing their money. I'm organizing a hackathon in the next weeks , I wonder if HN knows some specific swag that are good for developers. (not the classic "stress ball" or "branded pen", you see what I mean)that I could share with my sponsors to provide the...

Ask HN: about Oauth integration

I tried to implement some Oauth from 3rd party services (Linkedin, Facebook, Google, Soundcloud) and I'm asking if I'm the only one to take hours/days to make it well for each.- How long did you take to implement each of them? - How many different Oauth specs you encoutered? - Each time it is different or after practicing few it is ok for the other dozens ones?

Re:Open APIs are the new software patents on Thursday May 09, 2013 @08:40AM (#5680058)
It was "copyright troll" You can consider it at a API oriented "patent troll". This proves that some API providers want to keep juridical and commercial protection out of their APIs, as it was a patent. Have you seen all the recent API Terms of service changes because of competiting business model of 3rd party applications?
Re:Open APIs are the new software patents on Thursday May 09, 2013 @07:34AM (#5679815)
but what is "Open"? There is also an article about "What is Open" concerning APIs : http://api500.com/post/44022221316/what-is-open

Openness for APIs is about to be Accessible, to be Public, to be Neutral and to be Re-usable without restrictions.

So to be Public is one of the part of to be Open, in my opinion of course. Some people have made a larger definition about openness http://opendefinition.org/okd/

There is also a "Hitler : The fall meme" about Twitter API restrictions. Based on a true story.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1LnLH1N7ow
