I can add that feature easily. probably as a default CHECK BOX single only?
Re:Show HN: Matchmaking anonymously by someone you know on Sunday August 10, 2014 @11:03AM (#8159883)
yes
Re:Show HN: Matchmaking anonymously by someone you know on Sunday August 10, 2014 @01:58AM (#8158990)
yes, it will be at facebook messages.

Also on the app, on the send match page, you can click on your friend and send the message directly (from your own email)

regarding the abuse, the 2 person being matched to each other dont know the identity of each other anyway, and at anytime one of the party can decide not to continue that chat. In anycase they know who "the person" that is trying to become their matchmaker, thus i think the abuse will be minimal.

thanks

invoices are submitted early this year (like january), they paid some, but there are still quite a chunk of money they havent paid yet

like you said, it is "a bit dramatic" and stupid i would think if you havent submitted an invoice(s) and expected to be paid.

and i would think you will agree with me that january 2013 invoice is very late in october 2013.

and also imho, having been living in the valley for 18 years as a developer, sometimes old clients are like leeches, because they keep asking lower and lower prices, and before you know it, they want you to compete in pricing with a guy in india, or they will send out somekind of cease and desist email firing you for being not punctual etc, when all this time you have been helping them and giving them really low price. Trust me that all good things must eventually come to an end.

at least in bay area, i never seen any company do any down payment.

except if you are a big design agencies, then yes your client will do that. my projects usually is on going with specs that keep changing on the fly whatever bizdev people decided.

i wish it was that simple. there are 2 parts website and mobile apps, obviously with just the mobile apps src code, people cant do much with it.

Someone in news.ycombinator here must have dealt with this problem or at least a number of people, I know we usually only read successful stories everywhere but there actually thousands that dont make it

Re:Ask HN: Holding on to the source code till you get paid? on Friday October 18, 2013 @07:36PM (#6574643)
actually i am more or less like an employee with options etc but 1099 instead w2

most of the website work i cant do much since its on the server with login etc for anyone to see and access, but on the mobile apps, its pretty much ipa/apk you upload to the app store.

I believe like there are lots of instances of startup unable to pay etc in bay area, I just need to understand my options.

Ask HN: Holding on to the source code till you get paid?

happy fridayi was told that it is illegal if you work as a contractor for a company, to withold the source code until you got paidnote: i have been making the requested changes to the source code and submit it to appstore, but i havent been paid fully yet, and it does seems the startup doesnt have money at the moment.any comments or wisdom are much appreciated

that was the nature of tech company i guess. I have seen situation where the manager will bring the employee to a room and said the company not doing well etc, telling you that you are fire and by the time you are back in your cube, you cant even login to your system anymore.
i am in the sf bay area.
just wondering, why people are so afraid of "burning the bridge". It feels like there is a mentality that the world (or the valley) at the least is small and there will be good chances you meet the people you work with or your boss in future that will interview you?

i have been working in the valley since 96 as programmer and i never gotten interview or at the least needed help from people i work before.

good to know that there are these kind of places.
some big companies like cisco and sun micro doesnt even give out references except for information that you did work for them between this and that time.

Why do we have to give 2 weeks notice? our boss fire us right on the spot?

why do we have to give 2 weeks notice? but employer can fire us right on the spot?i have been working as programmer in the valley forever (starting out as programmer for Digital Unix back in 95). Never quit a job, always got fired after few years of good works, and mostly due to company not doing well.Recently trying to quit a job, but was told that if i quit then i am burning bridge with him....
