MIT is an elite school. Is this comment meant to be facetious?
Re:Show HN: Like Airbnb but for food on Wednesday May 22, 2013 @03:10PM (#5753068)
I've thought about launching an idea like this in the US. After doing some research, it proved to be too difficult to execute because of foodservice regulations and ensuring safety.

I like your concept, especially emphasizing the benefits of home cooking. Here are some things I think you should think carefully about: -how do you ensure safety on both ends (buyer and seller)? -why would someone want to use your platform instead of doing their own underground restaurant? -how do you vet hosts? Is there a vetting process for hosts? -how do you ensure a pleasant group meal dynamic?

Would love to chat more about this if would like. This is an idea I would really, really like to see succeed!

Re:Ask HN: People to follow on Twitter? on Thursday February 14, 2013 @03:29PM (#5221965)
fair enough. who would you recommend on g+?

Ask HN: iPhone app awards?

I know of the Webby Awards and the Crunchies because those are very prominent. There are some other ones a friend told me about like "Best Ever App" award as well as the IMG Awards, but I don't know their standing and legitimacy. Does anyone have one or two awards legitimate awards given to iPhone apps they are willing to share? Thanks!

Re:On Technical Entitlement on Friday June 29, 2012 @07:39PM (#4179736)
After reading this article, I still don't quite understand the meaning of technical entitlement. Is it the same thing as technical elitism? Moreover, I feel the whole post is just about elitism - albeit in the tech world - which is nothing new. I don't see the point Tess is trying to make.

This is definitely an interesting post. I'm curious how non-technical positions measure up in terms of summer pay per month.
