You can make the exact same list about positive actions.

And these positive actions happen 100x more often, at least.

But indeed, nobody is perfect

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Sunday September 13, 2026 @02:14PM (#49686892)
we are building https://www.d5s.tech, using our own software to automate our own company (the boring bits)! having a blast doing it and steadily automating more and more

and... whenever i have some spare gpt-6 astra left i am working on a R.U.S.E reimplementation alongside some other threejs experiments

Show HN: D5s, an AI coworking space for people and agents

https://www.d5s.tech

Hi HN, I’m Michael. Theodore and I are the co-founders of d5s, the multiplayer AI for cross-human-agent collaboration, and we’re building it together. We’re building d5s with d5s. From day one, we’ve created dedicated workspaces for engineering, go-to-market, finance, and other parts of the company. Each workspace has a few coworkers helping with the day-to-day, with access only to what they...

Any tips for a 2 person European company. One founder based in Amsterdam, the other in London. We are close to setting things up, some input from other founders would be great
Re:Open source AI must win on Saturday June 13, 2026 @12:53AM (#48513362)
At d5s.tech we are recreating the layers built on top of models, working on dogfooding our own product to run a large chunk of the company.

I feel extremely strongly that a future in which most companies depend on one or two large AI-megacorps is going to lead to excessive rent seeking sooner or later.

I remain positive that the long term steady state will consist of proprietary models, -but- with open source AI models statistically close.

If compute keeps growing the relative cost of training current frontier models will decrease. An open source Fable/Mythos model simply seems inevitable.

But what if the AI agent has a 5% chance of adding a bug to that feature? Surely before any feature was completely bug free
Re:Nobody knows how the whole system works on Monday February 09, 2026 @03:20AM (#46942892)
It is the same with the global financial system

Re:RS-SDK: Drive RuneScape with Claude Code on Wednesday February 04, 2026 @02:00PM (#46890078)
Amazing. Would be cool to see agents end up trading at varrock bank like during the old days. Sort of a facebook/moltbook equivalent - wonder how genuine it would feel
Still in awe that AGI is happening

“LLMs bailed us out of the impending ultra-specialization” - well said!
Re:Wall Street races to protect itself from AI bubble on Friday December 05, 2025 @02:09PM (#46165821)
Imagine throwing orders of magnitude more of compute at things - we may have things like a monte carlo tree search for LLM outputs using an LLMJudge that prunes the tree.
Re:All it takes is for one to work out on Saturday November 29, 2025 @03:43PM (#46090608)
On the one hand it is a wholesome article. On the other hand - so much wasted potential of people squeezing out the last bits when competing. Nash equilibria can suck
Title could also be “How to train biological neural networks” - Andrej Karpathy

I hope the best for them and the people they compete against. Thanks for sharing.
An agent is an LLM + a tool call loop - it is quite a step up in terms of value in my experience
Re:How and where will agents ship software? on Wednesday July 16, 2025 @03:45PM (#44586061)
Agents with their agent money - get ready for new legal structures and a bifurcation of the economy: agentic and human.

Who knows…

Re:Reflections on OpenAI on Wednesday July 16, 2025 @07:58AM (#44581232)
Anyone tried setting up a modestly sized tech company where employees are randomly placed into various seniority roles at the start of each year? Of course considering capabilities and some business continuity concerns…

Could work with a bunch of similarly skilled people in a narrow niche

Man, something something Data now being reality something something LLMs
Re:Are We the Baddies? on Sunday July 06, 2025 @05:14AM (#44479081)
What meta structure allows us to get rid of rent seeking behavior?

I don’t have an answer - is there scientific research on this?

Taxation? Loopholes will be found.

Lawfare against it? Lobbying will win.

I am amazed by capitalism, but at the same time it is a ruthless machine - and in democratic countries it is highly unlikely that a single political party can force the machine into a new direction. Perhaps that is a very nice feature, at the cost of also having to tolerate rent seeking, but it sure as hell sucks to see these downsides.

Re:The Death of the Digital Nomad on Sunday June 01, 2025 @05:51AM (#44149740)
Find coworking spaces targeted at digital nomads. Pick spacious airbnb apartments - important to have this as a backup for calls when the coworking space does not work out. Stay somewhere for at least one month, ideally 3 months. Japan is very nice. Portugal is alright. More rural places can be nice. Avoid most coffee shops.. Time zone differences can be very painful.

What is the long term effect on accuracy when a large mass simply moves XX% of their monthly paycheck into top ETFs?

I don’t disagree with what you said though, simply sharing thoughts - I think it leads to markets being more sensitive to macro strategies rather than actual fundamentals

Re:US Ends Support For Ukrainian F-16s on Sunday March 09, 2025 @07:51AM (#43308258)
Good, can we skip the 5th gen and move towards autonomous aerial systems faster?
Similarly there are Europeans considering a move to rural France or the Iberian peninsula.
