It is. The graph on their front page shows exponential growth.
For me the enjoyable part was always figuring how something worked, how to make it better, and how to design novel things.
Before, the architectural design was intrinsically coupled with the typing on a keyboard of the actual program.
Now it's tied to asking questions, frowning, telling the tool it sucks and how it should implement things instead.
Not much has changed?
I don't understand what this post is about. I own myfamily.name and I have host names like firstname.myfamily.name. What's wrong with that?
For me it's like reading that someone just discovered that grapes are sweet and wrote an article about their discovery.
Deno was dead the moment they went all in with being compatible with Node.
Meanwhile, Bun's only raison d'etre is the lack of TCO in V8.
I close my eyes and hit the mute button. I probably deserve the death penalty.
I'm not a native speaker but my inner voice also switched to Russian accent very quickly!
And the compiler was horrendously slow for big projects on x86_84 until 2023.
Some absurdity here in Japan is that in order to do low-voltage work you need to be a certified "electrician", and it's a one-fit-all certification that doesn't even touch low-voltage work.

The architecture is the claim here.Weird turn of phrase very typical of AI.
I didn't claim it's good. I said it's not shocking. The world is turning to shit, but Japan's immigration rules tightening is completely in line with everything everywhere.
Yeah I don't see how what were doing here is shocking, considering what everyone else is doing right now.
As a resident of Japan, this is particularly funny to me since those two countries are exactly the ones the authorities are trying to limit immigration from. Japan is _very_ racist when it comes to Korea, and China "buying all the land" this past decade is a frequent trope of the news (also that the Chinese cheat the NTA and pension system and never pay a dime).
Then of course you have crime (Vietnamese) and the right-wing idea that the Filipinos, Indonesians and Malaysians come here to steal Japanese (low wage) jobs (that nobody wants to do).
Nobody gives two fucks about immigration from north America, Europe or Australia.
I love that emoji, especially with the golden skin tone modifier.

I was one of the kids who didn't have a computer at home but had friends with those, and would read the BASIC listings in the magazines many times over to figure exactly what they did and think about what I could change before I visited my friends and started typing it all on their computer.
My preferred model at the moment is GLM 5.3 Coding. I think it's as good as the latest closed-weight models at a fraction of the cost, and we are being capped now at my place of employment so if I use it I don't run out of quota by the end of the first week of each month.
"Tired" actually doesn't really describe it. It was a level of anxiety closer to a panic attack. Like a constant fight or flight response just looking at the terminal. I feel better now.

Genuinely curious. A year or so ago I grew very tired of having to constantly monitor my terminal in case the agent would ask me for permission to use a tool. I wouldn't have minded that much if the all harnesses didn't suck as much as they do and actually remembered permissions when you tell them to, but they don't, so you end up having to answer "Yes" a quadrigazillion times a day.So claude...
> "But it booted straight into BASIC. That’s all it did. I was, like, 8 years old. I wasn’t about to learn BASIC. What I learned instead: computers were not as awesome as I’d imagined."
You were the exception. Most kids felt awe. We started learning BASIC and creating "dumb games". That's the origin story of most people my age who ended up in this doomed industry.
Microsoft owns 100% of GitHub and that's hosted on AWS...
So the super-hyper-sensitive internal data was shared publicly with a "DO NOT EVER SHARE YOU EVIL MONSTER" (paraphrasing) notice at the top? Great security!
This is pretty cool. It reminds me of a word processor I used on Amiga (name long forgotten) whose typing experience I could never find anywhere again. I really love the UX. And the fact it's focused on writing. Please don't add features!
We had machine learning solving medical problems way before trillion-dollar word-vomiting neural networks. What's sad is that the latter is now getting all the funding.

I think F-Droid is a great way to discover apps, but I'm not sure I would trust a binary downloaded from its repository the same I trust a binary downloaded from the app's official website or repository. I also remember a few apps clearly stating the F-Droid repo was a few versions behind and the "right" way was to install from their page.
Anyway, this might all become moot very soon if Google prevents us from installing anything from 3rd-party sources.
LuLu is honestly the best piece of software for macOS. Every upgrade, I always dowanload the latest version of LuLu first, the the OS upgrade, and then turn all connectivity off. Once it's done with the updates I make sure LuLu is active and up-to-date and running before I reactivate WiFi so I can review every outgoing connection (and deny most).
