Re:Yahoo's 10 patents that it claims Facebook infringed on Tuesday March 13, 2012 @01:05PM (#3699288)
It's probably true. However, if it's true that facebook is earning from yahoo's properties, I think they have the right (and probably should too) to sue facebook
Re:US on 'KONY 2012': No plans to remove advisers on Tuesday March 13, 2012 @06:35AM (#3697786)
But is it really that great? Can't they choose any other org that gives more than 31% of their earning to Uganda?
This happened to a page that my former classmates made too. It was made up of pictures of people in the community that they think weren't helping. It didn't get much popularity though. But it got shut down by facebook too. They later on found out that several people reported them using the "report/block" button. These people are relatives of the people that they posted funny topics about. They couldn't do anything about it.

On a related note, maybe the people who deserve to be reported are the likes of Justin Bieber. See Bieber tweets a phone number, except the last digit. Real people driven mad http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3690118

Re:How India Became America on Sunday March 11, 2012 @08:33AM (#3690248)
I have a lot to say, but I think one statement can say it all: NOT EVEN CLOSE
Maybe it would be better for people to really research on the causes of organizations. with the org running the this KONY 2012 movement, only 31% of the earnings/donations actually go to the kids of Uganda.
Re:Colleges and Employers Demanding Facebook Passwords on Wednesday March 07, 2012 @08:51AM (#3675446)
This would do it. But I suppose that some people still keep their myspace accounts, or worse yearbook accounts. And those things can be searched via Google.

Also, deleting these accounts does not assure complete invisibility on the net. If you've used your account to comment on a public facebook account or page, there is no assurance that deleting your account would delete that post too.

I second.

Also, I think, the author would like you to keep pushing for whatever it is that you desire. Because really, it's impossible to not succeed when you just go for it.

Re:Thumbtack raises $4.5M, already half the size of Yelp on Friday January 20, 2012 @10:47AM (#3489835)
I've used Thumbtack and I must say that it's a user-friendly website. You talk to real people and you can pay right then and there.
Re:Ask HN: Serif or san serif font on a classic website? on Friday January 20, 2012 @10:44AM (#3489814)
I personally think Georgia is a good font for websites.

Craigslist vs Thumbtack

I have an account on both sites. And personally, I think Thumbtack is the better one among the two. It’s easier to navigate and it’s easier to get the information that I want. What do you think?

Thumbtack: The New Go-To site for busy individuals

A couple of days ago, my sister’s computer gave up on her. The screen blacked out and when we tried to turn it on, the light of the power didn’t even come back. Now since we’re both working, we had no time to bring it to the repair shop. Luckily, our smart cousin has an account at Thumbtack and booked a professional for us.<p>According to my mom, the computer repair guy came in complete...
