Re:Keep Android Open on Saturday February 21, 2026 @07:52PM (#47106880)
I wish I could. There are many proprietary apps for banks and governments, which are definitely not available for Linux based phones. Maybe I can run them through waydroid though, I don't want to risk my fully working Pixel to try it out.
Re:Termux on Monday February 02, 2026 @09:04AM (#46856159)
Being able to use openclaw or github copilot remotely through ssh would be nice. I think there should be a dedicated interface though, typing into termux using on-screen keyboard is a real pain.
Not only you could escape from Windows, you are now free from Genshin dark patterns.
Lemmy people say that it's because of the outdated drivers ubuntu has. How do you think?

I can't understand why people on Xitter want to have this disinformation layer everywhere
Re:Flow – A Programmer's Text Editor on Thursday December 18, 2025 @10:01PM (#46321841)
Does it worth using flow over vim, or micro if you're a micro user?

As a helix user I tried it out, but I didn't see particular reason to switch to this.

Re:Show HN: Website to APK Convertor on Thursday December 18, 2025 @09:57PM (#46321821)
I don't see the reason to use this over PWA, which is less bloated and more secure than installing random APK from random source.
Re:Ask HN: What's the Future of Arc Browser on Sunday December 14, 2025 @08:45AM (#46262949)
Zen browser is open source. You can fork it to add the feature you're missing from Arc.
I use Gemini because it's free, but I also don't want to support Google dominance.
You'll love NixOS
Re:Making RSS More Fun on Wednesday December 03, 2025 @10:29AM (#46135605)
It's a bit off-topic but you can get user experiemce quite similar to that of Tiktok using Read You rss reader on Android.

Sorry I don't use Windows
Re:Ask HN: Which web browser are you using and why? on Wednesday December 03, 2025 @10:20AM (#46135492)
Librewolf since Mozilla started ruining Firefox. Brave is out of the question, it's affiliated.

WebTorrent works on the browser but I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for

Re:Seed. LINE's Custom Typeface on Sunday November 16, 2025 @05:11PM (#45948901)
For those who don't know about LINE, it's something like WhatsApp but with tons of advertisements and hateful contents. It's the worst chat app imaginable.
Re:Microsoft confirms Windows 11 is about to change on Thursday November 13, 2025 @08:19PM (#45922797)
Everyday is a good day to switch to Linux.
I can feel the vibe-coding "vibe" from every vibe-coded websites, somehow.

Re:Microsoft puts Office Online Server on the chopping block on Thursday October 23, 2025 @06:06PM (#45687936)
To me Teams sucks very hard, especially when running it on Firefox based browsers. It takes 30 seconds to load a page with colorless icons and empty content (while other websites load instantly), followed by another 10 seconds to prompt me with a login button. Every. Single. Time.
Re:Running new applications on old glibc on Thursday October 09, 2025 @01:36AM (#45523916)
It's posted on HN several times before but I found it still relevant.

I have access to my university's old Linux server that has glibc 2.8 and gcc 4.1.3 installed, and most of the cli tools don't work unless they provide musl binaries (or AppImage).

Re:Turn Any Website into an API on Sunday August 10, 2025 @09:01AM (#44854903)
It's not a browser extension, but controlling the actual browser without using webdriver is already a thing.

This project looks amazing and fun. However, the website did not seem to take the cloudy weather at my current location into account, which is a bit of a disappointment.
