Can you give an example of the issue you're trying to solve with Generics and Go is giving you hard time? don't take Go to C++.

Re:Developers, Being Treated Poorly? You Are Not Alone on Tuesday April 05, 2016 @08:54AM (#11429943)
The author must be keeping record somewhere of those things. You can't just remember that stuff over the years. If that's the case, maybe the problem is with you.

I had couple of those things but can't really tell the details. You're not happy, just let go and move on, don't even need to send notice, just don't show up the next day.

Re:Ten years on LinkedIn on Monday March 07, 2016 @10:02AM (#11239236)
I quit linkedin back in 2012 when they got hacked and lost people's passwords.
Re:XtreemFS – Fault Tolerant Distributed File System on Friday February 26, 2016 @08:13AM (#11181163)
It was officially merged into the mainstream Linux kernel tree in kernel version 2.6.14. Anything before that is a special kernel module.

If not already loaded, load the FUSE kernel module:

> modprobe fuse

Good luck with that!
8 pounds less money.
The problem is ethics, you just made somebody slave for a year. Now if you're happy with that, that's ok.
Re:Why I Wrote PGP (1999) on Wednesday November 18, 2015 @11:56AM (#10588926)
It's like saying, how the people who invented a knife and provide a way to cut fruit feel about criminals and other bad people using their products to kill people.
Re:Running the Let's Encrypt Beta on Tuesday October 27, 2015 @09:35AM (#10457853)
What kind of insurance does letsencrypt provide in case of data breach? isn't that the whole point of certificate authority?

Re:Edward Snowden interview: 'Smartphones can be taken over' on Monday October 05, 2015 @04:02PM (#10334460)

Re:Terrorism is not about terror on Monday October 05, 2015 @03:46PM (#10334337)

Re:Terrorism is not about terror on Monday October 05, 2015 @03:41PM (#10334305)
Terrorism as delivered by the media in the current time is Islamic related violence.
Re:Closing a door on Monday October 05, 2015 @12:17PM (#10332805)
That finger is for Nvidia. There is a chinese proverb that say: "When the sage points at the moon, the fool looks at the finger.".

Nvidia is the problem here, not the finger.

Re:Closing a door on Monday October 05, 2015 @12:04PM (#10332699)
example? the emails I've read so far are from Linus.
Re:Closing a door on Monday October 05, 2015 @12:03PM (#10332690)
The problem with "basic courtesy" is that you need to understand other people's culture/background/personal life to make it "correct". There are people who will be offended just by criticizing their code, not their personal life.
Re:Closing a door on Monday October 05, 2015 @12:00PM (#10332670)
I kinda prefer Linus's method as you know what will happen to you if you don't verify/validate (a kind of respect to everybody's time) before submitting.
Re:Do you deal with a lot of bullshit in your work? on Thursday September 17, 2015 @10:04AM (#10233376)
Just as a clarification, I mean by bullshit those meetings and meetings about the meetings, too many tools as in you have to attend stand-up, send status reports, update bug tracking, update timesheet.

If I have to manage a project myself, I would have: 1. bug tracking with timesheet (timesheet not for figuring how much you worked but to give a cost idea of future project). 2. source control 3. meetings as needed but needs to be scheduled and has a subject and time. So screw standup. Standups I've being part of previously was about glorifying what you did yesterday and what you will be doing today. A kind of, I don't trust you, give me some bullshit. 4. management needs to stay away, they need to go move furniture if they don't have anything to do. I know some people might be offended by this.
