Committed to the bit; context aliased “change plans” to “pylons” and I have a command to /construct them

I love this. Funnily enough StarCraft has influenced how I approach AI at a meta level

Protoss: powerful and expensive frontier coding agents you directly micromanage for the toughest tasks

Terran: versatile team comps of dedicated agent roles you can delegate well-defined tasks to

Zerg: massive swarms of specialist custom agents inside your apps that you evolve and optimise for speed and cost

Knowing every faction has its strengths and weaknesses helps me decide which tools to use for the job.

Had this same pathway into programming and game development too, thanks to having tons of spare time with a computer that had only ms office and no internet

My last PowerPoint game pushes the limits of what you can do to implement memory mechanically using animation triggers:

Awesome, I've submitted a game I made last year (https://blankwhite.cards) which was itself a remake of a game I made in 2019.

In my experience it took 5 years to find the time and motivation to build a v2.0 by hand. AI has since accelerated the production process to help me ship features that would otherwise have taken me another few years to even consider doing.

The difference between $0.00 and $0.01 is infinite.

But I’m really curious how bad the free experience would have to become before people are open to paying a pittance?

Been doing something similar with save files for my game. Line 1 is "<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><script>const rawData =" and line 2 is all the state.

Then the save button downloads document.documentElement.outerHTML with line 2 replaced by the current state. No server required.

Depending on how "approximate" is acceptable, I've found that using timezone names can be a good proxy for location. As most users have their timezones set correctly it's more consistent and private than IP or GPS.

I've made a library for my own use cases that does this (https://github.com/mcteamster/virgo), but it's also pretty straightforward to parse the city/state name out of the timezone and look it up somewhere.

Thanks! Great question - the heatmaps and traces really help with refining gameplay UX like identifying dead click areas and reducing the number of interactions for popular functions.

Of course any client-side RUM can only give partial insights. Always open to hearing any direct feedback suggestions or improvements.

Show HN: Blank White Cards – Global Drawing Party Game

https://blankwhite.cards

G’day HN, this year I've been remaking my online adaption of the classic party game 1000 Blank White Cards (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1000_Blank_White_Cards)I started this project in 2019/2020, originally as a drinking game for house parties, but it transformed into a way for my friends to keep in touch during the long Melbourne COVID lockdowns.Essentially anyone can draw and submit cards...
