From my initial testing, this looks like an annoying "no". There doesn't appear to be any way to set the VPC or security group in which the build executes, only an IAM role.

(which already makes it a non-starter for my use case with a private npm-enterprise server)

Had this same thought, there's a lot of things named unison, including some really popular ones.

Ah, I miss my TI-99

Was actually looking at this a few days ago for a cluster of bastion nodes to secured infrastructure. Ts a pretty interesting tool.

I would suggest not "storing" any coins in any exchange. Isn't it kinda missing the point of cryptocurrency if you're just trading your FDIC bank with one you probably should trust even less?
Optimus effectively thwarted my genuine desire for going back to a Linux workstation at work. Traded it in for a Mac after three weeks. Oh well, I'd rather get work done than dick around with X I guess.
Re:Use a VPN or Your Google Searches Are Public on Monday March 18, 2013 @09:54PM (#5398441)
OH WOW HTTP_REFERRER? This is adspam, company is selling VPNs.

Did you know your IP is showing?!

is this just a wrapper around "ln -s dir/.* ~/" ?
Re:So long, Retina on Sunday September 16, 2012 @01:28AM (#4528358)
Sucks, but I think it's a good idea to wait a generation for stuff like this; even if it's apple. I got a big IPS LCD from Sony back when they were a new thing. I thought $1500 was well worth it for 1920x1200 in 24". I still use it but it has a similar burn in issue.

Display tech is a shady game, figuring out the actual panel mfg is hard, and years of custom modelines have taught me to avoid being an early adopter on displays. Retina is "teh futar" though, and I welcome it once it's been refined; we've needed higher dpi in large displays and software that can handle dynamic dpi well for a long time.

As long ad ad networks contine to try their hardest to track me online I will still unapologetically use these extensions. Maybe that all these things exist should show you where the real problem is.
Re:Snowman Architecture Part One: Overview on Sunday September 02, 2012 @03:09PM (#4467799)
Thought the same thing after a quick scan. This is kinda how we do EA already...

However, EA literature often repeats the obvious, maybe we're not the right audience...

Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Sunday July 01, 2012 @03:09AM (#4184091)
Yeah, this is what we're aiming at, making how developers interact with the community as part of our scoring metrics.
Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Sunday July 01, 2012 @01:00AM (#4183900)
Not sure why hubspot is having issues, I'll have to talk to the marketing guys who maintain the hubspot pages... Currently we don't let people claim their profiles, but will in the future. "login" is really just for customers at this point.
Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Sunday July 01, 2012 @12:54AM (#4183892)
Eventually we're planning to do just that.
Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Sunday July 01, 2012 @12:53AM (#4183889)
For sure, we can only evaluate what we can get access to. We're trying to scour as many sources as possible, but if you're exceedingly quiet, you wouldn't be in our system.
Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Sunday July 01, 2012 @12:45AM (#4183876)
We are making assessments of code made public, and combining it with how active people are in places like stackexchange. You can argue that code evaluated from github is not necessarily indicative of a good developer, but it's a good place to start rather than shotgun LinkedIn spam from recruiters.
Re:Why You Need To Hire Great Developers on Saturday June 30, 2012 @10:37PM (#4183608)
My company is making a business of identifying great developers (gild.com). It is a notoriously difficult task, even with the wealth of information developers tend to make public about themselves.
Re:Your Cloud Instance Just Died. We’re Sorry. on Saturday June 30, 2012 @06:45PM (#4183051)
If a single region is a single point of failure, isn't that "doing it wrong"?
Re:Are technical certifications of any worth? on Saturday June 30, 2012 @04:21PM (#4182710)
I am in a technical field (ops) full of them and I have none. I don't see much worth in certs. Ability should be pretty obvious by performance in entry level positions.
Re:Facebook Advertising is Fool's Gold on Thursday May 31, 2012 @12:38PM (#4048889)
Was just reading the JTBD literature a few weeks ago. An obvious concept, but so oft ignored.
Re:Half of Americans think Facebook is a fad on Wednesday May 16, 2012 @01:14AM (#3980597)
Just before I clicked on this, I clicked on another HN article that was on Facebook about Zuck was an organ donar (wat?). I couldn't read it because I fully deleted my account about a year ago. I had a flashback, and realized, facebook is the new AOL.
Re:The NoSQL movement on Monday February 20, 2012 @01:35AM (#3611537)
I love the ad for MS SQL server in the middle of the page.
Re:Your hard drive is too big on Sunday December 18, 2011 @04:42PM (#3367572)
I have burned through 8 SSDs in VM hosts. Using TRIM. I am not ready to trust them yet.
Re:Poll: Have you had a SSD fail? on Monday May 02, 2011 @01:01PM (#2506937)
I posted this on the reddit thread as well, but I've used some SSDs in VM hosts, and seen a pretty damn high failure rate. They're great for VM hosts for obvious reasons, but they thrash pretty hard, and I've taken to triple RAID mirroring them, across different brands.
Re:Working around the EC2 outage on Thursday April 21, 2011 @07:07PM (#2472723)
Quick answer: have presence in both the VA and CA locations.
But it's cooler to PANIC!!!

edit: just looked at the article and the image at the top. Ha.

Re:Why did Andrew Cooke deleted all his answers from Quora on Thursday March 17, 2011 @03:02PM (#2337509)
Why did he deleted indeed.
Yes. And I'm sure it's been said: fail2ban
