Very unexpected but it's a great match. I have been using Astro with Cloudflare Pages and the dev UX is fantastic
For OP: Would you say this is a drop-in replacement from ahref's lite plan ?

What would I miss from ahref ?

Re:Ask HN: Any solo game developers here? on Monday March 13, 2023 @10:56AM (#35136540)
Your games looks really good. Do you handle art + programming by ourself ?

As someone that would like to create my own (basic) games, what would be the right tools and frameworks In your opinion to create art and game logic ?

The easier to learn the better haha

Re:10 Years of Meteor on Wednesday June 29, 2022 @01:15PM (#31923001)
I guess it's probably one of the reason that made Meteor not seen as "production-proof"
Re:10 Years of Meteor on Wednesday June 29, 2022 @04:48AM (#31917812)
Wow Sacha Greif, a name I haven't seen in a long time!

Thank you for the good memories, I know every thing and everyone you talked about in this post. BTW, back in the days I created 2 very popular Atmosphere packages

I wish Meteor succeeded in becoming more mainstream, and the MDG didn't abandon it so quickly to go after the new shiny tool that was GraphQL

Nowadays, there is still no equivalent framework in the JS world in terms of productivity

Re:How can I get my boyfriend to stop digging his tunnel? on Wednesday April 20, 2022 @10:29AM (#31097480)
Reminds me of dwarves from Dwarf Fortress entering a "Strange Mood" (https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Strange_mood)

Basically becoming completely obsessed like this, stoping any other task

I am just using Next.js SSG mode: https://nextjs.org/docs/advanced-features/static-html-export to generate a lot of pages based on a template and data fetched from a thrid-party API
What is the tech stack behind a strategy game like this ?
https://marketcapvsmarketcap.com/ - it's a project I made to learn more about the static page generation (SSG) mode of Next.js

If it's useful to people that's just an added bonus, but it was just a way to learn the development and CI/CD aspect of SSG

The idea is that I pre-create hundred of thousands of pages at build time - all the pages can be seen here: https://marketcapvsmarketcap.com/sitemap.xml

No it's mostly organic google traffic
My side project https://playtoearn.one/ is not making $500/month yet, but it's getting there: a tiny bit more than $400 for this month

It's getting around 250-300 visitors a day, and in a high paying niche

I started using "classic" ads - which were/are making next to nothing - but just signed a deal with a direct client for 400$ for 3 weeks of displaying his game on the site, on the top banner

There are so many play-to-earn games popping up at the same time that projects are fighting for visibility, which playtoearn.one can bring

So now, I've hired a designer to make a great looking UI and I'm getting motivated to turn this side project into something more than this

EDIT: Traffic for the past month:

Is it me or the current stocks / housing / crypto markets are absolutely insane those days ?

The scale of Nubank is insane
I find wrangler really decent to work with, it's pretty minimalist but does everything I need

What kind of issues did you have ?

Re:When Should You Not Use Rails? on Wednesday August 05, 2020 @03:13PM (#24064394)
>All of our "lightweight Sinatra(and similar) API" services eventually start to look more and more like Rails apps

Oh man, I've been working as a freelance/agency with a a team of 3 experts in nodejs for 5 years now - we've built API & products for many many clients

Our nodejs/express "lightweight" framework is looking exactly like a rails app now (migrations, controllers and models generator, some scaffolding generators)

At my company, we run 100% of our front-end React/Vue web apps on Cloudflare workers - We love it, deploys are really easy, performance/resilience is built-in

Ask HN: Is there anything you can do against Play store 1 star review attack?

I've built an app in a highly competitive market, and everytime my app rise to +4 stars, we get around 5 to 7 1 star reviews the same day - It's always a variant of the 2 same messages: "Beware, this app is a scam" - "the developer hacks your data"I always "report as spam" on the Play store, but Google has never removed any of the reviews. I'm kinda desperate, it takes a lot of time to get...

Re:Binance to acquire CoinMarketCap for $400M on Tuesday March 31, 2020 @11:26AM (#22738425)
>do you honestly believe that without that rating system offered to the Institutional Investment crowd I mentioned earlier they'd be at even a fraction of their valuation/purchase price?

Standard license is $299/ mo, even with only 3000 paying customers, and there are likely way more than 3000 paying customers, that would be $10M a year in revenue

CMC is a good asset and a valuation/purchase price of $400M is a fair price for the API product only, let alone the ranking /rating aspect

Re:Binance to acquire CoinMarketCap for $400M on Tuesday March 31, 2020 @08:32AM (#22736857)
I'm one of the paying client for the API, people in the comments fail to understand that CMC API has many paying customers
Re:Cryptocurrencies Are Detrimental to Society on Friday March 27, 2020 @12:19PM (#22704192)
>and shutting down the "exchanges" like coinbase would tank the value for crypto

Sure it would, but you can't close decentralized on-chain exchanges like uniswap or Kyber

I'm pretty sure there will always be a fiat<->crypto bridge, you can't "shut them all down" IMO

Re:Cryptocurrencies Are Detrimental to Society on Friday March 27, 2020 @11:12AM (#22703458)
>Therefore, I would propose to shut them all down.

OK the author clearly has no idea how a blockchain and a set of validators work

I would gladly hear his plan to "shut them all down"
