Show HN: I built a contest based video discovery platform with no algorithms

https://curatrs.me/

I'm excited to share with you my latest project, Curatrs – a video discovery platform that's challenging the norm. Unlike platforms driven by complex algorithms, Curatrs takes a fresh approach by centering around contests and genuine user engagement. Why Curatrs?Ever felt lost in the sea of algorithm-driven content (Tiktok FYP, Instagram Feed) ? I did too, so I built Curatrs.

I've been working on my startup, Styrate, which aims to revolutionize e-commerce by making product discovery a social, interactive experience. We're not just creating a platform, but a community of passionate product enthusiasts, and we wanted to convey this in our promo video.

Here's the interesting part: we created the entire video using AI tools, including OpenAI's chatbot, GPT-4.

Yes, you read that right! GPT-4, known as ChatGPT, was instrumental in generating a script that captures the essence of Styrate. From introducing the platform to explaining the unique features (like our 'Showdown' feature where users vote on influencer-created video reviews), it provided a captivating and detailed narrative for our video.

Creating the video using AI has been a fascinating journey. It really goes to show how AI is not just about future tech, but how it's becoming an integral part of creative processes right now. It also aligns with our vision at Styrate - to leverage AI for a more personalized and engaging product discovery experience.

To run the code on a real quantum computer, create an IBM ID from the website and replace "My_API_Token" with your own token.

SEEKING CO-FOUNDER Social Commerce | CEO| Chicago/Midwest| Pre-seed

Looking for a technical co-founder. I'm in the early stages of building Styrate.co, Styrate is a social platform that uses AI to provide personalized and trustworthy product reviews. Users can follow reviewers, watch video reviews, and share lists of reviews. Think of us as a social @wirecutter powered by AI. I'm looking for someone who can help me build this out, I already built out an early MVP (Styrate.co)

Show HN: I Built a Reddit/Wirecutter Hybrid for Product Reviews/Discovery

https://styrate.co/

Hey there HN ! I'm so excited to show you the platform I built! It's a product review website that's all about community and video reviews. I wanted to create a space where people could share their personal experiences and opinions on products, so others could make informed decisions based on real-life experiences.I noticed that there were a lot of fake reviews on other platforms, and I knew...

Hi HN. The product discovery process is totally broken, that's why I set out to build Styrate. With the rise of fake reviews on platforms like Amazon, it can be hard to know what products are truly worth your time and money. That's where Styrate comes in. With influencer recommendations and short-form videos, you can see how a product is actually used before making a purchase. It's a much more engaging and trustworthy way to discover and learn about products. This is the current MVP for it and it's a little rough around the edge, would love feedback.
I didn't not know about that as a nontechnical founder, and therefore there are probably 100's of people who didn't know and that this post might help.
Text reviews are nonsense and easy to spam, video reviews are more trustworthy because there's a human face and personality associated with it, it isn't from a review farm in Macedonia for a scam product with an auto-generated company name.
I have been struggling to build a landing page for my startup and I tried to build one in react but it turned out looking worse than my aunts chocolate chip cookies. I think that coding a landing page is a major bottleneck for startups and I am happy to have found this. I don't work for yep.co and i found this on a paywalled substack originally.
It's a sign-up page for the beta. I don't even have the technical skill to spam people with ads, which is why I used a no-code service. The most that will happen is that you will get early access to the platform when it launches

I wanted to share a project I've been working on : Styrate, a social rating and review platform for products. I built a landing page for it using a no-code platform, which allowed me to create a professional and functional website without writing any code.As someone who is not very tech-savvy, I was able to easily build a landing page that looks and functions like it was built by a...
