News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

mavendependency

I distinctly remember reading article that they fixed this on later production runs with some sort of coating. Wasn't the white iPhone 4 delayed for this?
Yep, don't go searching for elevator when what you really need is the lift.
If this is the case, wouldn't the "touch current" from capacitive leakage on the Y class capacitor tying the SMPS ground to mains neutral do this anyway?

Surely, if electromigration is an issue, wouldn't these issues be just as significant? Isn't gold practically immune to electromigration at these energy levels?

Reverse engineering has never been illegal.
LoRa is infinitely more reliable.

Cloudflare enabled domains can tunnel ipv6-only hosts for ipv4 clients.
You just needed to change to google DNS, which you would have to do anyway - AWS CloudFront doesn't resolve at all in some circles.

Why not confine this number to banking, then.
Re:AMD unveils its Vega 10 GPU architecture on Monday July 31, 2017 @06:21PM (#14896389)
Too late, raven ridge with integrated vega taped out a long time ago. One desktop gaming card line-up operating in the wrong region of the efficiency curve doesn't instantly turn an entire architecture into house fire material.

Re:IPv6 Adoption on Wednesday July 26, 2017 @06:37AM (#14855047)
Mobile carriers here are bringing back NAT on ipv6 now. Wannacry fears? NAT for the sake of firewalling? Phones still seem to get individual addresses.

The testpilot program from mozilla has a beta test for sidebar tabs. This is still not tree, but can be a decent alternative if you need tree style tabs to reclaim screen real-estate.
Gmail would refuse to recieve mail until you either free up space or upgrade. They share the same storage space.

There some projects to realize low-cost, short turn-around-time LSI fabrication at slightly old process, such as 1um, in Japan, whose name is Minimal Fab. This will enable the (commercial) LSI fabrication service at a few hundred USD cost and 1-week TAT. I believe this a revolution similar to that happened in PCB world in ten years ago.

Re:A brief history of IPv4 address space exhaustion on Thursday May 25, 2017 @02:51PM (#14419262)
This is the case for ipv6 on mobile data by default. Would using a usb modem result in getting affected by smb exploits or something of the sort?

Talent and IP are in extremely limited supply. Your alternatives are mediatek and spreadtrum.

Wasn't it Google's fault anyway. Without a stable ABI, updates will require SoC vendor involvement, which is a limited time affair.

High end samsung firmware has PIP support, can confirm that (samsung) PIP works perfectly with youtube. Apple might need to communicate better with the youtube folks.

What's wrong with odin? Other than the moral aspects of using leaked software?
