I'm building a service that helps event DJs engage with partygoers and take song requests over text message. It is SMS based as guests won't want to download an app just to send a request in. https://requestnow.io/

Try the demo and let me know what you think!

I agree -- it's on the short list for improvements. Stay tuned
Thanks for posting!

I put this together in the hopes of making it easier to discover tech conferences. It’s been really hard to find conferences as an attendee, and more recently as a sponsor. Hope it’s helpful for others. Let me know if you have any feedback or find conferences I’m missing.

I built something very similar: http://confir.io/
Re:Ask HN: What a/b testing framework do you use? on Thursday April 27, 2017 @05:12PM (#14214750)
Good question -- If you create a single SDK project, you can use any of the SDKs. Use the C# SDK on the backend and JS SDK to track client-side events. Feel free to reach out with more questions.

Hello!

I work at Optimizely so happy to answer any questions about our tools. We have a solution for the Web, as well as developer SDKs to A/B test in code.

You could also look into open source tools like Facebook's Planout: https://github.com/facebook/planout.

Re:Build Your Own Lockitron With Twilio, Arduino, and Node.js on Thursday March 27, 2014 @06:13PM (#7483887)
ah, I see. Still extremely useful-- my roommates and I lose our keys all the time. Also love the idea of adding "groups" of cell numbers to the permission list.

This is so awesome! Question: (I haven't used servos much) Will this still allow the regular key functionality to work? Can you turn the servo manually or is it resistant?

Using Lyft share link you can pull all names of users

It seems through Lyft's new share link you can pull the names of all the users. Ex: https://www.lyft.com/invited/MATT2398. Decrementing the last four digits exposes other users. You can try this with other names. Not sure if this is a vulnerability since it's just names. Surprised they didn't hash them.

Great post! Had some great points. Check out my SMS startup http://request-now.com/
Right, it's not really for the club or bar scene where they would have their own set list. It's more for birthdays, Sweet 16, high school dances, weddings or bar mitzvahs. These types of events the DJ's actually take requests.
