Re:The Hidden Monopolies That Raise Drug Prices on Friday March 31, 2017 @12:10AM (#14001111)
I think that's very dismissive of the importance rebates play. The PBMs' defensibility comes almost entirely from their ability to use their scale to drive up branded/specialty medication costs up by demanding larger and larger rebates from pharma. In terms of revenue, branded and specialty meds already make up more than 75% of the market today. They are the real problem here, not generics.

To be fair here, having to send an email to delete your account is true of the vast majority of companies.

That's kind of my point. That's much more unwarranted than dropping Breitbart as a customer yet still happened.

On the gas station example - I recently recall wedding stores being unwilling to sell items to LGBT couples.

Re:What I Wish I'd Known About Equity Before Joining a Unicorn on Wednesday January 18, 2017 @04:00PM (#13430228)
Why should a company offer a market rate salary and equity if the equity is valued at 0? Should companies just not offer equity in that case? Seems like a waste if it is not valued at all.

Ask HN: How to accept ACH payments without microdeposit verification

I've paid vendors online plenty of times via some form of ACH by entering my bank info, and it never required a tedious process of microdeposit verification. Does anyone know how to accept that sort of payment? Stripe doesn't seem to allow it and Plaid (plaid.com) has a pretty limited set of supported banks.

If you report data errors, Google is pretty good about fixing them quickly.

Ask HN: What type of phone system do you use?

I'm looking for advice on setting up a phone system for customers to call in. We've experimented with both Twilio and Grasshopper and had some reliability issues (calls not going through, voicemails being left on employees phone, etc).Any operationally heavy startup out there figured out a good option on a budget?Matt - Founder at ScriptDash

Re:Yup, it’s vegans who have caused the california drought on Wednesday April 08, 2015 @05:57PM (#9344322)
How about the dairy from milk cow? Does that matter for these types of stats?

Did a quick google search, and if the cow produced 2500gal of milk per year for 5 years before becoming meat, and the cow produced about 400lb of meat, then you end up with 1lb of beef + 30 gallons of milk for the amount of water the article states.

Maybe never actually studied? I mean vitamin water has a whole advertising campaign about being healthy, but that's clearly nonsense.

Honey has a very high glycemic index as well. Almost the same as table sugar.

> My brain and focus is just way better running on fat than on glucose.

Your body runs on sugar not fat. Fat will be transformed into sugar to be used as energy in your body. With that said, it won't create a huge spike in your blood sugar like drinking a soda, and won't cause a giant release of insulin.
