Re:OpenSCAD the Programmers Solid 3D CAD Modeller on Saturday October 10, 2026 @02:16PM (#50035604)
I love OpenSCAD. Have been a power user for years. It's so great asking LLMs to make 3d models in openscad.

I made a rust-implementation of openscad called openrscad (https://openrscad.com). It still has some rough edges, but runs quite fast both on desktop and in the browser

Sounds interesting. Excited to see physical versions of this cooked up. Also, very excited for a world a few years from now where we can talk about accomplishments like this from the frame of the driver of the AI, rather than hype that AI helped.
Love the idea. It's really painful to cycle through every theme. Would be great to have a way to scroll through them directly, though... that would result in a bigger bundle, and I respect the hustle

Very interested to see this project grow and see where they explicitly diverge from NextJS / Vercel's product vision.
Re:Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher on Sunday September 13, 2026 @09:16PM (#49690625)
I know this is a feat of AI engineering, but given the end result all I can think of when reading this is the scene from “a Christmas story“ where the kid decodes “be sure to drink your ovaltine”
Generally excited to try it out. The only thing that gives me pause is the idea of asking Claude to install a specific package. I know this is a bit naive as I’m probably downloading so many other things without my knowledge, but planning to read/fork the source before running any install commands
Love how clean it looks.

Related, I made a clock with a moire pattern (10 years ago now) and still love coming back to it.

The hands all spin with css transitions and I remember there was a Safari bug where if I zoomed in, the rotation would reset itself

The site was my wife and my first attempt at using Ghost. It's a great platform and a refreshing departure from the Wordpress ecosystem. I'm looking forward to making more sites with Ghost.
