Guess this is what billionaires do with their free time. Bill Gates did this to his house many moons ago.

Sounds like tourism is a large portion of income.

Never ceases to amaze me what people can accomplish in Minecraft.

Ask HN: When will the physicality of digital storage be unmanageable?

There are numerous organizations that are backing up data, and often times backing up the data to multiple locations (internet.org, amazon S3, dropbox, etc). Often times these sites taut site Geo-redundancy. But the data has to be physically stored somewhere.A few facts I could glean (somewhat dated)- In 2013 Amazon stores 2 trillion objects...

I realize that the patent was filed in 2012, but there's plenty of prior art. For example: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/type-n-walk/id331043123?mt=8 The whois for type-n-walk show it was created 2009. And archive.org (https://web.archive.org/web/20091006131301/http://www.type-n...) shows that there was actually an app in existence at that point. -

The magnifying glass icon, while looks like a way to search the bookmarks, actually opens ALL bookmarks in separate tabs.

Why does that read like Yahoo answers?
This may be a stupid question, but why don't our browsers do this automatically? This seems like a good idea.

Re:Chrome has updated - How to fix the changed New Tab page on Wednesday September 25, 2013 @09:52AM (#6444540)
I actually find myself using a blank page in firefox. But in chrome(ium) I use the extension Currently - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/currently/ojhmphdk... Makes a new tab actually useful for me.
It was a beautiful attempt.
I was expecting side-by-side comparisons at first. Then I saw the format and realized it's EVERY constitution. Wow.
Re:7 Things that WILL go wrong when you run a Webinar on Monday September 23, 2013 @10:22AM (#6431108)
I work for a company that heavily uses Linux and work in a position where I do all my work exclusively remote via web share/phone call. So we need a web sharing application that is stable on linux & windows. We've had good success with Elluminate (now owned by Blackboard). It's re-paint algorithm seems to be bearable.

Great suggestion about #2. I know a number of my colleagues that don't get that. And screenshare a 1080p display and don't even use a fullscreen presentation. So the text is completely unreadable on small screens.

Any proof to this? And, no, twitter is not a source of record.

Maybe this will be included with the money Microsoft makes with every android device.
