I thought it was pretty clear?
> Back in 2013, three friends who loved Apple and design couldn’t find a notes app they liked, so they built their own. That side project became Bear.
BTP say [0] that "the images and biometric data of those who don’t cause an alert are automatically and immediately deleted." - if that's true, they shouldn't be able to tell that it's the same faces being scanned multiple times so it has to be 500k total scans rather than, say, 500k unique faces across 2 million scans

This looks really promising. Very snappy.
I might be missing it but there doesn't seem to be the equivalent of Illustrator's direct selection tool, for moving individual anchor points? There's the anchor point tool for adjusting the curve of an anchor point, but I can't move the anchor points themselves. I expected to find it under the pen tool menu.
I think they mean the Filter > Render > Clouds feature in Photoshop rather than local vs cloud
Where else would they be calling on Diego Garcia apart from the military base?
They're usually done with SVGs or CSS pseudoelements (a clip-path polygon or borders and rotation) rather than Unicode arrows
If my experience of playing Overcooked is anything to go by this may well result in bloodshed
Google's design blog has a particularly egregious version of this:
https://design.google/The mouse blob morphs into the background of any buttons you hover over, which is technically impressive but annoying in practice
Anyone else getting the optical illusion of the fans spinning in your peripheral vision while reading the top paragraphs?
Context: last year LaLiga (top-level Spanish football league) obtained a court order compelling Spanish ISPs to block certain IPs during football matches, as those IPs have been associated with illegal streams of live matches. Many of those IPs are shared Cloudflare IPs, with the result being many legitimate sites become unavailable in Spain during LaLiga matches

I'm seeing the same pattern, with the addition of diddy@ and epstein@, curiuosly
Thank you for sharing! I made this one. Had the same problem as the OP, the Google results are full of junk, so I made it just so I had something reliable to use.
You have uBlock Origin or another ad blocker installed, their cookie banner disables scrolling but your ad blocker is blocking the cookie banner (same thing happened to me)
> Here’s the best part: the battery lasts for years
I wonder how many years?
> The battery lasts for up to years of average use.
...how many?
> a battery that lasts for years
How many years does the battery last?
> That’s up to 2 years of usage.
Ah.
I guess "2" is the absolute minimum that you could describe as "years".
It's a shame because it does look like an interesting proposition. It might be more compelling if it was "send your ring back to us for recycling - and we'll send you a new one". I doubt the economics would work at this price point though.
Well the argument certainly wasn't "nobody dies of cancer in places with universal healthcare"
Something doesn't have to be perfect to be better
Are there any software-oriented licenses in the same spirit as CC BY-NC? I'm aware that it likely wouldn't be a true Open Source license if you completely prohibit commercial use, but I've looked for a license like that in the past and didn't have any luck
He mentions in an earlier blog post [0] that the audio files are behind Cloudflare already so if Cloudflare did its job so I think the actual bandwidth impact on the origin server should have been pretty limited. Hopefully he'd turned on the option to ignore the query string to avoid the cache being bypassed.
I run a similar audio-heavy site [1] that's reached the front page of HN, also behind Cloudflare - the traffic spiking to terabytes a day is a bit of a shock at first but if everything's configured properly CF works well

Really neat! If you're interested in adding clouds to your basemap I built a service [0] which generates free, almost-live cloudmaps (with alpha channel or precomposited onto a Blue Marble image) as part of my own ISS tracker project
