This is really AI slop - so I don’t really know if it makes any sense for comments given that there is no real way to validate the crap that was put out.

It seems somebody bought the domain due to its rating. All the authors share the same type of image for their profile pics…

It’s sad that this content now come to the top of HN so often

Not only that - everything from this website seems to be posted in the past 3 months by 3 different accounts.

AI misinformation and slop - should be moderated and not top of HN

Isn’t this a ban on it being used by the state, rather than people/civilians?

Negatives to end user: unknown pesticides or banned pesticides.

No propaganda - lack of validation, evidence and trust

What war? Also should laws not be followed during wars? I assume suing is a legal action in this case as oppose to something else?

Yes, let take morality out of our daily lives as much as possible... That seems like a great categorical imperative and a recipe for social success
Can I use Docusign to provide my identity in Estonia online via my phone when I move there to buy a SIM card or open a bank account or file a document with the local authority?

Can I also send the Docusign document via Signal without Docusign knowing the person who signs it?

Because that is what the eIDAS is supposed to deliver on top of cryptographic validation of signatures.

Re:A change of address led to our Wise accounts being shut down on Thursday October 30, 2025 @07:42PM (#45766773)
Oh no… god forbid - adult content lol. Yes regardless of the content if the business is legal and they only changed an address that’s not a reason to have this level of shit support and no way to escalate and contact a human…
Re:Imgur pulls out of UK as data watchdog threatens fine on Tuesday September 30, 2025 @07:07PM (#45432383)
Any source for this comparison? Also did the EU buy it or said they will?
Re:Once Again, Oil States Thwart Agreement on Plastics on Saturday August 16, 2025 @07:12AM (#44922219)
It never said it will stop right away. It put a target and the process is called phasing out. The same way you migrate away from AWS. You don’t just stop your platform you move over while still using some AWS services.
I don’t record my conversations and if some lawyer tells me that they have a recording of me saying something I’d be more inclined to believe them. “Maybe I actually said that? Maybe I made a mistake? Maybe I don’t remember it now correctly?”

So I’d take it with a pinch of salt but the lawyers might be absolutely correct as well. I’m just saying I can see it as a tactic but maybe I’m a bit paranoid. Wondering if just I jumped to this conclusion?

It absolutely is a problem to be dealt with. I understand what you are implying but it actually is a problem
Re:Stream MongoDB Changes to SQLite via Ably LiveSync on Thursday January 16, 2025 @11:28AM (#42727450)
Hey,

I'm the PM of LiveSync at Ably. We started working on this quite recently after we established a partnership with Mongo and they deprecated Realm. I'm looking to expand the product to mainly cover the sync functionality of Realm but the roadmap is not set in stone yet

It would kinda be funny if they did as they probably not want Apple to get fined as now they’d be shareholders
Guess it’s time to follow the law of the land you operate in…
Re:Apple found in breach of EU competition rules on Monday June 24, 2024 @10:32AM (#40776531)
But that’s how they decided to fund other areas like having iOS free. I still don’t understand the logic behind the complaint. If the developers don’t want to pay, why not just drop support for iOS? If the answer is because customers are on iOS then… idk respect that this is the decision of the user. Don’t force me to install another App Store or give you my card data so you can charge me the same amount and keep more profit while compromising my privacy and security
Re:Apple found in breach of EU competition rules on Monday June 24, 2024 @10:28AM (#40776491)
Any evidence for this? Which big domestic company is a gatekeeper and not being targeted by the EU?
Re:Apple found in breach of EU competition rules on Monday June 24, 2024 @10:25AM (#40776445)
I like seatbelts but that doesn’t mean I’ll drive into a truck… I still use critical thinking when I buy stuff. But when I forget to cancel a subscription I can ask for a refund and 99% I get it back from Apple. Like 20-30% when I haven’t used the App Store and went directly to the merchant.
Re:Apple Intelligence for iPhone, iPad, and Mac on Monday June 10, 2024 @03:04PM (#40637188)
% share with OpenAI?

Plus I’d now consider buying the new iPhone and wasn’t planning on a specific update from a 13 given the hardware is still fine

Re:Apple Intelligence for iPhone, iPad, and Mac on Monday June 10, 2024 @03:02PM (#40637141)
They did it with Google Maps and YouTube. They also do this with the search engine used in Safari.

I believe they will just provide an interface in the future to plugin as a Backend AI provider to trusted parties (like the search engine) but will slowly build their own ChatGPT for more and more stuff.

Re:Apple Intelligence for iPhone, iPad, and Mac on Monday June 10, 2024 @02:59PM (#40637076)
Which part? The online or offline capabilities?
Re:Big Tech to EU: "Drop Dead" on Sunday May 19, 2024 @07:29PM (#40410537)
I was answering another very simplistic view
Re:Big Tech to EU: "Drop Dead" on Sunday May 19, 2024 @07:26PM (#40410523)
No, the problem is I’m sharing my card data with a randomly company on the internet. I trust Apple and I want to be protected by their platform and to be able to easily cancel and not go into dark patterns where I need to call someone.

We all know that if this is an option and developers are greedy (which they are as humans) then they will do everything they can to push ppl to the payment gateway with least fees regardless of the customer’s privacy or security.

The text on its own is fine but it also increases the attack vector for most people.

Re:Big Tech to EU: "Drop Dead" on Sunday May 19, 2024 @04:36AM (#40405334)
As a fanboy what I want to see is not this message because this means fragmentation. I’d like to be able to manage my subscriptions from the settings menu. Honestly the most important part I feel DMA should have tackled and not just forced stuff on big tech. Yeah they are gatekeepers but they also provide value as gatekeepers. Force everyone to use an API for subscriptions management and if they don’t participate allow me to chargeback and not have any legal repercussions and I would NEVER have a problem with any alternative stores.

Also don’t want apps which are saying: visit this to get cheaper rates or completely not offer me to buy in-app as it is a waste of time to go their random website power by Y platform. You establish this go to website to subscribe and it will increase overall fraud.

These are my problems with the above. Very easily solved I think but I’m just worried that every greedy developer will try to get every single % they can (same as Apple) and I don’t believe this will create a “safer” world.

Re:Big Tech to EU: "Drop Dead" on Sunday May 19, 2024 @04:20AM (#40405264)
Ummm like what? Tell me what are there problems that we need to worry about where a battle over “economic resources” is you know… not a part of the solution or problem.

Also if we are talking democracy and representation- it’s quite obvious you are mistaken. We have the European Parliament elections so… you know democratically elected representatives.

Feel free to share you view on democracy but it will be in conflict with that the real definition of word is given your comment.

Re:Big Tech to EU: "Drop Dead" on Sunday May 19, 2024 @04:15AM (#40405236)
It’s like saying the US started as a colony and that explains the lack of its progressive democracy and having a static constitution.

Just because something started as X doesn’t mean that evolution didn’t happen. The reasons for the bureaucracy are a lot and different but come down to power sharing between the stakeholders.

Re:Apple introduces M4 chip on Tuesday May 07, 2024 @04:07PM (#40290884)
Strangle Android 14 seems to not be available for s20 phone which was released in 2020?

Or am I mistaken here?
