Does the $3000 (USD?) bounty seem low to anyone else? Prior to reading the timeline section at the bottom of the post I would have guessed a range of 25k to 50k as a bounty for such a severe vulnerability.
I often see Imposter Syndrome being discussed on HN and in other software development circles. While I have yet to face the feeling of being an imposter; this particular quote from the article strikes a bit of a nerve,

"Sturgeon’s law says “ninety percent of everything is crap”. I’ve found this to be true of developers. Nine out of ten developers are not just bad but incompetent."

I'm not a mathematician, but if this statement is true, chances are I am an awful developer. Knowing this, how do I and others proceed? Can we be useful on a team?

I'm seeing a templating issue on the timer option in the menu. Great sounds!
Re:React Router v4 FAQ on Thursday September 15, 2016 @11:55PM (#12511718)
I'm curious, did you replace react-router with something else or are you managing the url "manually"?
Re:React Router v4 FAQ on Thursday September 15, 2016 @11:52PM (#12511703)
I too am confused by this. I found this GitHub issue [1] when searching for a withRouter HOC replacement.

Hmmm you bring up a good point, having a file based provider type might be useful as the last fallback.

Also, the tool already supports fallbacks, so if a provider is offline or what have you it will try the next provider in line and so on.

I agree, if that is the case those using Alpine in production should be wary.

Looking for a mentor

Hello HN,I am two years into a typical Computer Science program and I am looking for a mentor during the school year. I am looking forward to having free time during the school year to learning while working on projects and such. I am working full time during the summer and I am realizing how little time I will have to expand my knowledge once I graduate.Basically I am interested in a ton of CS...

Re:Show HN: My web framework and deployment tool on Tuesday March 10, 2015 @12:04PM (#9178451)
Hello All! I realize this is yet another framework, however the main reason I posted this is to hopefully get more people involved with the project, not self promotion. At the very least I would like to see a couple issues on Github complaining or booing my work so far.

Thanks!

Re:Show HN: New OpenLoopz Landing Page Based on HN Feedback on Tuesday March 10, 2015 @01:06AM (#9176140)
Wow great improvement. I actually understand what your product is now. I really like that you made it clear it was for both teams and single users as this answered my first question of "Who is this made for?" after understanding your product's purpose.

As for the web design side of things I would look at maybe changing out the images with all those arrows at low screen sizes as the normal body text in those images gets too small to read. Lastly, from 770px to 795px wide I get a horizontal scroll bar in Chrome 40 on Windows.

Good Luck!

Ask HN: API/service for pushing text notifications to android/iOS

Hello HN! I am looking for a API/service similar to PushBullet that I can use to send plain old text to devices that have subscribed/installed an app. The reason I ask is that I am working on a ruby script that checks an API and lets users know when it has been updated. see https://www.pushbullet.com/channel?tag=metacritic-new-albums.Thanks!

Re:Does Windows 10 as a service, not a product frighten you? on Wednesday January 21, 2015 @03:29PM (#8925517)
Maybe this is the paranoid me talking, but the idea that you won't really even own your operating system scares me a bit. I don't want to depend on a company that much, even Microsoft. Not to mention privacy, if it is a service, are we the products? Thoughts?
Re:Skeleton 2.0 CSS Framework on Tuesday December 09, 2014 @08:29PM (#8727137)
Thanks for the 2.0 update Dave! I having been using Skeleton as a starting point for side-projects for a couple of years now. I really like how light it is compared to Bootstrap.

Happy Holidays!

thanks, I am in the process of writing documentation right now.

Ask HN: How do I get people interested in my open source project?

I have been working solo on a fairly niche open source project. I would love to get some sort of community started around the project, or at least a couple of people complaining via GitHub issues. Any ideas on getting at least a little interest? I would love a second set of eyes.Thanks.EDIT: As requested, the link.https://github.com/marshallford/www-start

Re:Ask HN: Opinions on putting stickers on a laptop? on Friday August 08, 2014 @03:50PM (#8154710)
Update: I am a college student studying Computer Science. I am just going to put stickers on the lid, not on the inside/keyboard.

Thanks for all of the comments.

Thanks for the ideas, but unfortunately they are not what I am looking for.
Trust me, I have tried. All I can find is this post (must be real-time).

Ask HN: I am looking for a server monitoring tool featured on HN

Hello HN,I am looking for a tool I saw on HN about a or two month ago. I believe it was a Ruby app that you installed on a server. Then you were supposed to tunnel via ssh and visit a localhost website. From there you could look at the server's performance including CPU and RAM. It was kinda like New Relic, but self hosted. If this is the wrong place to post this, let me know. Sorry in advance...
