Re:Ask HN: I'm worried my founder boyfriend will leave me on Saturday March 09, 2024 @03:42AM (#39650378)
don't think about it. It will stress you out, it's called anxiety because of the fear of the unknown. I won't get into the details but once again it's not about worthy or not, just discuss with him, tell him what you think / feel and see where this is going. If it's going to happen it will, since you can't control it ATM you are just adding more pressure on you and the relationship.
It should be better now: https://docs.docker.com/docker-for-mac/apple-m1/

But there is no autoupdate

2018 model is by far the most non dev friendly without an escape key, and I am not sure how they did the study that buttons on arrows should be of different sizes  Further more heating wise, I am happy, I boil my tea while running tests, you can't do that on 2015 model, I tried :D

It's really a fail.

I don't care at all about that usb / hdmi ports talk, but make it work without needing to have ice over it, ah yeah one more thing, please fix the keyboard, this has less than 2 years and it's typing for meeee some times :(

Why is it ok in software to pay a 20% - 30% commission? Imagine if your car dealer would ask an extra 30%

Ok, ok I get it, it's not a physical product but still people get paid to work on it and develop it, and there are income taxes and all that, but really 20-30%?!?!

If you sell a product chances are your profit margin is 20-30% and that it's good, but here in software we have to do a cut for 20-30%, well again 10% it's not going to buy all the fancy tech and spaces in expensive parts of the world.

I really love the concept but I would like to say Chest Flys are not beginner (I've just looked at chest for Males) - 60-80% of beginners in a gym will get that wrong.

Re:Ask HN: What to do after $8M (all cash, post tax) exit? on Wednesday December 05, 2018 @05:09AM (#18606989)
travel
Here you go, one karma point for you sir for this post.;)
iPhone alarm is a joke 1. While you are on a call it will ring like hell in your ear 2. While you have an active screen (email, games, etc) the alarm will popup like a notification and if you slide up (the same thing you do with a notification it will snooze) 3. No volume alarm control 4. For edit you have to tap edit (in older version you could just tap the alarm)

I could go on and on...

Ask HN: Do you incorporate before or after validating the project?

Hi great community. I have this question for a long time... Do you incorporate before you validate or after? In fact the question would be... how can you start getting clients to pay you without incorporating? Do they pay on your name? And you inc. after that? How do you get this working and pay your share if taxes? I am from EU, if that makes any differenceThank you very much

If I am not wrong you can have Agile boards in Paymo as well, it's called Kanban boards.
I think it would be nice to have a couple of examples of the type of websites hosted by cloudflare so that as a developer I can get a sense of what apps would work best.

Further more ... if it's an app store (like) concept why does it not describe the way developers can make income just from creating an app not an app and a connected service that would require a server setup, I mean describe the revenue model and the cut that cloudflare would get and us as developers will get in the end.

Thank you

Re:Fix your crappy ads and I’ll stop blocking them on Tuesday May 02, 2017 @01:54PM (#14248758)
I agree! If ads will look better and blend in with the website it would be a win-win stiuatuation for advertisers and site owners.

Re:Show HN: Freeter is out of Beta on Tuesday February 28, 2017 @08:34AM (#13753581)
Hi Alex, I like the idea but you need a couple of minutes to figure it out maybe it would be awesome to start off with an demo dashboard that people can use and get used to the app and maybe a guide on how to change things (sort of like an on boarding in web apps). I am going to send you an email. Cheers and keep up the good work.

Wallmart has done it, it's for better performance because of blocking processes as far as I remember from an artical I did read in the past
Re:Boards in Asana on Thursday November 17, 2016 @07:21AM (#12976780)
Have you heard about www.paymoapp.com - they have boards for quite a long time now, also Gantt is in private beta. The speed is quite good. I am using it for more than 2 years now.
Re:Ask HN: Stack for creating web app also hosted on Windows app on Wednesday September 07, 2016 @04:41AM (#12441689)
You could use whatever JS framework you would like, and as a wrapper you could use Electron or QT. You have to also think about connections, updates, multiple screen support, HI Res, but it's all doable. Further more using electron or QT you could make your app cross platform

I think that the radar is broken in terms of the angle that it does it scan, it should be 180 per 180 degrees from left to right and from road surface to top. I have a hunch that now it's just 180 left to right and somewhere around 30-45 road to top.
Re:Trello vs. Asana on Thursday June 23, 2016 @05:52PM (#11964565)
Hi,

As I comment on the original post you may want to give www.paymoapp.com a try, since there is no standard workflow it can help you with project management, time tracking and reporting.

Please let me know what you think

Re:Graphing when your Facebook friends are awake on Friday February 19, 2016 @02:58AM (#11132256)
This is crazy, I had this idea like 1 month ago and I thought I will find some free time to make this happen by the end of this month, I guess I should thank you :) Nice story by the way :)
I for one, just found out about it, based on your link, so maybe this is related to marketing or to the fact that people are afraid to use 'non big names' libraries until they prove they are worth a try, because if you are a business and start development on a tiny library and after 5 months you see that it's no longer supported you have: option a) support further the development with your team option b) rewrite with an other framework

Both options are costly and that's maybe one of the reasons.
