I don’t think anyone but US people got confused by those headlines. Makes sense though. When there are two places with identical names, you hear more often about the one closest to you, so that’d be your first assumption.

What's the difference between 70mm and IMAX 70mm? Is it just the aspect ratio (2.20:1 vs 1.43:1)?
This diagram is so weird to me. Bottom part is simple and neat, while the top half just goes crazy. My puny brain desperately wants this world to be understandable and elegantly designed, but apparently atomic structure has a different idea.
Or maybe it's the developer who needs to fix his editor. Proper editor should convert tabs into spaces or vise versa and not create complications for everyone else.
Re:Why printers add secret tracking dots on Wednesday June 07, 2017 @11:37AM (#14507272)
At one point I was working at a printing shop. One time I was testing color calibration, running the same sheet through the printer multiple times, and these dots became visible clearly.

It was quite a head scratchier, we actually thought there's something wrong with our printer until I googled about these yellow dots.

Could you point me to an example? I find it hard to figure what small apps are actually capable of pulling any income.

Why not just

  if (i % 3 != 0 && i % 5 != 0)
this extra boolean variable out?

For Russian freelancers who work for dollars this ruble fall is actually quite a good news. Same work brings you twice the money.
Wow, this is most definitely interesting! Is it optimized, though? Are all tabs active at once?

Also, I wonder, is this idea original or was there any attempts at making something similar to this before?

2. There is http://rghost.net Upload size is actually limited to 50 MB, but otherwise it is pretty much the same thing.
Re:Lessons learned from blowing an interview on Friday December 12, 2014 @10:16AM (#8740411)
Yes, this is exactly the story of my interview career.

I've been looking for a full time webdev job for a long time without any luck. I've been asked simple questions and failed them miserably. Failed to write a line of code similar to what I do on a daily basis ("did you actually done our online tests yourself?"), failed to answer on a question about a simple term that I knew (mostly because I read books and docs in original English, while being asked them in my native), failed to answer what projects I've worked on (because I forgot about them all at once), failed by looking for complexity in some trivial questions.

So yeah, the anxiety is strong in me. Meanwhile, I do freelance work part-time at night, making web apps for few clients, while working full-time on an unrelevant low wage job, fearing to lose it because I have to support my wife and 2yo.

Welp, there was a few programs I've never heard about, but the "Keyboard Shortcuts" section was the most shocking for me. No one ever told me!
Were you aware that Helvetica Neue is a typeface?[1]

Typora looks great. Any plans for linux?
Re:Why Programmers work at night (2011) on Tuesday November 25, 2014 @03:41AM (#8656896)
As a part-time freelancer who also has a full-time job, I often don't have a choice but to code late at night or early morning.

I honestly hate working at night, simply because I often miss small things that cause silent bugs. On the other hand, coding at early morning (5-6 am, before my wife and kid are up) feels really great.
