- A few Tmux plugins to automate workflow tasks (jump to pane, resize panes)
- lots of TUIs for displaying relevant information from services (github, jira, obsidian), that are tiled on a "home" tmux window, gives me a live dashboard of work that I can refer to over the day.
- TUI games, started with a simple dope wars clone … for when I need a quick break.

Here’s a simple session switcher: `bind C-a display-popup -E "tmux list-sessions -F '#{session_name}' | fzf --reverse | xargs tmux switch-client -t"`. No plugins, nothing fancy, just works.

Re:Tmux-devcontainers: Tmux Pluging to manage project devcontainers
on Thursday August 21, 2025 @09:17AM (#44972401)
After a few months in development and local testing, it's now time to go live with a Tmux plugin that I have been building in my spare time. tmux-devcontainers is a Tmux plugin to:
- Show the status of the devcontainers for the current workspace - A menu that provides quick access to common commands like starting/restarting/removing devcontainers - A key binding to open a new window and execute a new login shell inside the primary devcontainer.
tmux-devcontainers was built to support my personal development environment. It works for my style of development, and my personal projects which are mostly based around docker-compose configuration. I'm sure there are other Docker configurations that may not fully work, but it is also very early days, and there are plenty of bugs, and new features that I plan to implement. Of cause being open source, I'll always appreciate new issues and Pull Requests.

People hear server-less, and go straight to thinking about hardware … in my mind, server-less apps are missing the "application server" software, or it's extracted away so far as to appear to be the operating system from the server-less functions point of view.

possibly, but there's a reason that why companies such as Apple and Samsung can drive innovation and hardware, and that's by selling you a new phone every 2 years. Where's the repeat market if you only sell one device per customer? Ideologically this is noble, but i don't see a successful business case

Re:‘Run, Hide, Fight’ Is Not How Our Brains Work
on Sunday December 20, 2015 @08:18AM (#10766951)
In the uk, the police have been using a similar message but with a very different outcome. Run, hide, tell is the procedure that the police want the public react in. The idea being is that a coordinated response from the police is much better than having members of the public attempting to deal with the situation themselves. Obviously the circumstances are different to the USA as the vast majority of the public don't have access to weapons, and would not have the means to fight back. But I do believe this approach is far less terrorising than asking members of the public to always be prepared to fight
Re:The best icon is a text label
on Friday December 18, 2015 @06:14AM (#10757881)
I'd agree that many Icons are context sensitive and many require the user to learn their use, but they do, mostly, provide a language agnostic approach to navigation. An icon is the same size in any language, whereas the title could be very different.
