Clubhouse boasted 13.4M users in March, but its new user growth has rapidly decreased since. New downloads peaked in February at 9.6M, but fell to 2.7M in March and 900K in April. Now I know that downloads is not the best form of metrics because it can be a result of hyped marketing but still this seems like a steep decline. Could this be because of Twitter spaces or perhaps FB and reddit...
thanks for your feedback!
Hi! Co-author here. There are a couple of things that makes auditus better than other open/closed source tools available. First, almost all of them are text to speech; thus you have to sort the task of converting ebook to text on your own. Secondly (assuming you have converted your ebook to text), the speech processing tool is not plug and play which creates a barrier to the fact that how many people actually end up using them. Thirdly, there are not many entities that offer this many voice choices based on accent, gender and texture(more accents coming soon). So, yes you can convert your "text" to speech using any of the many open source tools out there, but the end product will generally seem like a rushed, low-quality , not-so-natural robot narrating your favourite content.
I co-manage an ebook to audiobook conversion product
https://auditus.cc. Spending a little time in this space and being an avid audiobook listener myself, I somehow feel that both sides are right on some level. The publishers' sole goal is to place as many physical copies as they can in people's hands. That is why you often hear things like "The feel of paper is what makes the book better", "this digital reading takes the feel away", etc. Now if you are listening to a book on Audible and you feel "ah! this book sounds pretty interesting and has some very notable points; I should read this rather than just listening to it!", you might end up buying a copy of it. But now since Audible has the exact text of the book, you can read it right there while also listening to it, which is obviously better because two faculties of your brain are working on the same thing thus you grasp faster. But clearly that's not good for the publisher at all, thus the frowning. On the other hand, audible's point that the A.I. generated text is not gonna be an exact replica of the hard copy might be the only and helpful justification they can present.
Totally relatable. Plus somehow I have noticed that I work out for more time while listening to audiobooks when compared to working out with blasting music. I use this service called auditus.cc to convert all my epubs. And the fun thing is the reading voices available are pretty varied so if I start getting bored from one voice, I make sure I use another one next time.
I think they are past that stage! If a 28 billion company gets to say that I am not going to feel bad about my site going down.
This is pretty good. I had a quick glance and surprisingly did find some parts that are generally missing from 'Intro to Algo Trading' literature especially in the execution part. Anyway, I work at this company where we are a product that makes production systems for trading algorithms into a PaaS. We also have a library LibKLoudTrader(
http://docs.kloudtrader.com) that incorporates pretty much every thing one needs to start with algorithmic trading.

MENACE, MENACE is the only world that can be used to describe the post-demonetization days. A guy who people of the largest democracy in the world chose to be their leader, effed up their lives and pretty much sure many made billions out if it. It was pretty much a scam that was pulled under the umbrella of "It will bring back all the un-taxed currency under scrutiny", but was really just another day when financially lower and financially middle-class citizens got effed by the turds sitting in the govt. and the lobby they suck up to. People were crying and begging for their own money outside of banks. BAnk employees were working 18hrs 7 times a week. There were many meters long queues outside of every ATM, and trust me there are a hell lot of ATMs in India(clearly because of the population). If you ever want to pull off a con act of duping someone of their own hard earned money, people of Modi REGIME are the con-artists you have to meet with.
