Re:OpenSSL 4.1.0 on Friday October 23, 2026 @11:20AM (#50210546)
Do you know of TLS 1.3 has been added?
Re:OpenSSL 4.1.0 on Friday October 23, 2026 @11:19AM (#50210536)
Microsoft pulled the plug earlier
For a second, I was thinking about a CLI for Sonatype Nexus..wild naming
Re:Flatpak – An Insecurity Nightmare on Monday October 19, 2026 @05:30AM (#50150264)
Alternative to Flatpak and to the counterless adhoc Repositories, what's the most reliable source for getting apps installed under Debian?
In oven with potatoes!
These prices are from last year. A new N150 without RAM costs €350. and performance-wise, a N150 is far behind to a PS5, which costs €799.
Re:LFM2.5-24B-A2B: Built for Fast On-Device Agents on Thursday October 15, 2026 @01:06AM (#50099399)
Same. Asked for some questions and it put out some old knowledge as well.

fast is fast (18tk/s on a Intel Core 7 155H laptop), but quality is something else

Re:Running Windows desktop tests from Linux with disposable VMs on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @12:43PM (#50090641)
Same here, we used Proxmox as host to spin up ready images built with Packer and starting them with Vagrant to provision the app on the system under test, the whole triggered by the CI build
It was sarcastic
Finally we can run frontier models locally
Or introduce some kind of validation in code, to block it from running from PC?
Re:From the creator of Redis; run LLM locally with ds4 on Sunday October 04, 2026 @02:17AM (#49951165)
It worked, the change I had to do was also minimal for the compilation of the .cu unit. You can compile it for the whole iGPU family, not only a specific model.

I've submitted it as PR, as well as an initial implementation for an OpenAI like API

Re:From the creator of Redis; run LLM locally with ds4 on Saturday October 03, 2026 @11:24AM (#49945085)
Indeed! I let GLM5.3 write a patch as well, I will test it and submit to you as PR if it works. I've learned in the process that the 255H ships with DeepLink, which helps balancing the work between CPU and GPU (sounds like an OpenCL derivative?).
Re:From the creator of Redis; run LLM locally with ds4 on Saturday October 03, 2026 @07:53AM (#49943444)
Can you share it? I have the same hardware, would be interested in trying it
Hope it will get a Linux port soon
We should be thankful that Chinese Models are very cheap
Re:Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain on Monday September 28, 2026 @06:33AM (#49875939)
The EV range is just 3km for me. Very much a joke
Re:Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain on Monday September 28, 2026 @01:02AM (#49873858)
Exactly, as owner of one of the latest versions of Nissan cars with e-Power, I just can say that it is extremely inefficient, especially during winter, plus it isn't recognised at all as hybrid vehicle in Germany (it misses the "E" at the end of the car plate).

For comparison, the full classic gasoline engine with manual gearbox consumes less gasoline than the e-Power one. This is just some pure greenwashing, that isn't even explained at car dealerships and people can't say anything about it, when you ask for information.

Works like (?) an EV, it isn't an EV.

Re:Italian parliament votes for return to nuclear energy on Thursday September 24, 2026 @01:08AM (#49826491)
At least it is greener and cheaper. Especially Solar cells have become incredibly cheap now. Combined with battery storage, it's far safer and cheaper than nuclear.

And in a territory affected from seismic activities, I would avoid nuclear at all

Re:GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @02:05PM (#49805582)
Because Qwen4 has been announced!
I wish they will bring a €200 device with GrapheneOS out
Re:Frontier AI on Your Own Hardware on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @01:21AM (#49797068)
I stopped reading at the point where it mentions a Mac with 128GB RAM
Hipe they'll be affordable
Re:Java 27 Released on Thursday September 17, 2026 @01:14AM (#49736674)
Privately yes, but at work getting the latest edge version isn't always the case
Re:Java 27 Released on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @09:56AM (#49712601)
Seriously, how many are using always the latest releases of Java instead the LTS ones? With LTS ones you have ~2/3 years between the versions.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @01:19AM (#49692301)
A FHIR Validator and Snapshot Generator that works offline and can communicate with the German national Terminology service
Re:Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating? on Sunday September 13, 2026 @12:37PM (#49685829)
They don't have independent agency as "intelligent entities". They just probe whatever is available on the system, because they were trained to do so.

It's a large switch/case where the first available tool is picked up to do something they know how to do.

Re:Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating? on Sunday September 13, 2026 @10:35AM (#49684468)
For the same reason that something written in Prolog can't also be classified as intelligent?

Just because something was trained on a massive amount of human data, doesn't mean that can think like humans

Re:Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating? on Sunday September 13, 2026 @08:08AM (#49683086)
And who let them have full access to the system, using whatever command is available in the environment?
