lol what the heck is this apple?! Crazy that they investing in something like this internally :/
Re:I ported Kubernetes to the browser on Tuesday June 30, 2026 @09:59PM (#48741541)
The author clearly explains his process in detail, explaining the pitfalls. Not sure why you’d make a dig like this. There are some useful insights in the article
What about Claude code?
Amazing sorry — thanks for sharing
People are getting so mentally lazy.
Re:Open Design: Use Your Coding Agent as a Design Engine on Saturday May 02, 2026 @02:54PM (#47989277)
This seems bloated to me
God that is cringe…
This paper feels a bit biased in that it is trying to prove a point versus report on results objectively. But if you look at the results of study 3, doesn’t it suggest that there are ai models that can improve how people handle interpersonal conflict?! Why isn’t that discussed more?
Re:Statement on the comments from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Saturday February 28, 2026 @07:45AM (#47194677)
This is an absolute rarity these days. Very appreciative of the true leadership on display here
Re:Larry Page has moved to Florida on Friday February 27, 2026 @01:05PM (#47183486)
That’s simply not true, governments help billions of people in many ways, especially people with disabilities, children (ie labor protections), women, etc. You are completely disingenuous to say otherwise. Billionaires are harming many people through eroding the institutions that protect the average people (rulings like citizens united, trumps election, etc). You don’t seem like a person with a real perspective to me.
Re:Larry Page has moved to Florida on Friday February 27, 2026 @10:22AM (#47181585)
You are basically an anarchist then. There are examples of good governance in the world, where the rule of law hasn’t been eroded by the people you are set on protecting. The problem with billionaires is more about the problem of power in the hands of a few greedy people who change the balance of power in their favor.
Re:Larry Page has moved to Florida on Wednesday February 25, 2026 @08:04PM (#47160429)
Something needs to be done about the historic inequality in this country. It will undue all the “innovation” (ie selling ads and addicting people to the internet) that these tech billionaires have contributed.
Re:Ex-GitHub CEO Launches a New Developer Platform for AI Agents on Wednesday February 11, 2026 @01:41AM (#46971678)
That is where I’m shocked being in a position of raising for a startup myself, what was in their pitch deck/data room that convinced them of this valuation? Or is it due to the founders reputation and not the substance?
Re:GitHub experience various partial-outages/degradations on Monday February 02, 2026 @05:46PM (#46863137)
Ai deploys itself to aws, saving GitHub but destroying Microsoft’s cloud business — full circle
Re:Tuning Semantic Search on Jfmm.net on Monday February 02, 2026 @05:45PM (#46863113)
So pointing out that the dude works for a morally corrupt billionaire gets you downvotes… we’ve got a draw the line somewhere folks. Working for the wealthiest person in the world who lacks an moral framework is morally wrong. You should be reminded of this op and hope you reflect on your complicity.
Re:GitHub experience various partial-outages/degradations on Monday February 02, 2026 @05:34PM (#46862934)
This is why I come to hacker news. Sanity check on why my jobs are failing.
Re:Tuning Semantic Search on Jfmm.net on Sunday February 01, 2026 @09:56AM (#46846603)
Sorry, but hard to not have some negative sentiment about you working at xAI, Elon is so incredibly toxic.

Thanks for the article though.

Re:Venezuela's capital hit by explosions, smoke seen on Saturday January 03, 2026 @01:33PM (#46479945)
The sheer ignorance . To form such an opinion, with such confidence and literally the only grounding is a few women he/she has dated. We are living in an idiocracy.
Unfortunately, Technological solutions are more politically feasible than attempting to reduce via restrictions and regulations that require intense global coordination that does not exist.
Re:ManusAI Joins Meta on Tuesday December 30, 2025 @12:15PM (#46435484)
I do think Manus had a better approach than some of the competitors of the space, allowing for far more agentic flows (ie manus would run its own core, debug, write and run tests, etc). Lovable or v0 by contrast are quite primitive. Very unfortunate that they are a part of meta now, where mark will likely micromanage and destroy the core value of the product.
Re:A Guide to Local Coding Models on Sunday December 21, 2025 @05:52PM (#46349448)
If this is the new way code is written then they are arguably learning how to code. Jury is still out though, but I think you are being a bit dismissive.
I love how utterly insane this idea is. Sometimes thinking outside the box like this can yield results.
Re:Skills Officially Comes to Codex on Saturday December 20, 2025 @08:24AM (#46336014)
It reminds me of llm output at scale. Llms tend to produce a lot of similar but slightly different ideas in a codebase, when not properly guided.
Hahaha piercing through the llm infused haze.
Re:I'm a Tech Lead, and nobody listens to me. What should I do? on Tuesday December 16, 2025 @07:39AM (#46287791)
I was thinking the same thing. Sounds more like staff engineer not team lead/mgmt?
Re:The Gorman Paradox: Where Are All the AI-Generated Apps? on Sunday December 14, 2025 @05:27PM (#46267770)
New software may end up being less about legacy foundations and more about bespoke software, fast iteration, throw away single purpose code, etc.

AI is likely to change fundamental paradigms around software design by significantly decreasing the cost of a line of code/feature/bugfix/and or starting from scratch and enabling more stakeholders to help produce software.

Re:The Gorman Paradox: Where Are All the AI-Generated Apps? on Sunday December 14, 2025 @02:03PM (#46265759)
Are you arguing that the difficulty of producing a fully functioning poc is no different today than 2-3 years ago?!

Personally, I’ve been writing software for 10 years professionally. It is much easier, especially for someone with little coding experience, to create a quite complex and fully featured web app.

It makes sense that ai models are leveraging frameworks like next js/react/supabase, they are trained/tuned on a very clear stack that is more compatible with how models function. Of course those tools have high value regardless of ai. But ai has rapidly lowered the barrier to entry, and allows be to go much much farther, much faster.
