Have you had a chance to ride in the Chinese EVs? Opinions on exterior designs are pretty subjective and change a lot over time (see: Porsche 996). I've driven and ridden in a lot of Chinese EVs over the past two years and find them much more luxurious than ICE cars across the price range. Most of them have huge panoramic sunroofs now that make even the small cars feel open and spacious, the technology is actually useful instead of a gimmick (Chinese navigation apps are way better than western ones, which is a big deal when the primary interface is a tablet), many of the cars can autopark/drive, they have cameras for all the blind spots, USB-c and magnetic chargers everywhere, fast charging, etc. etc.

I would encourage anyone that lives in America or Europe and hasn't been to China in the past five years to go see it for yourself. Take what western media writes with a grain of salt - you might be surprised.

Not who you responded to, but I am. M3 Max with 128GB and I use every bit of it for photo/video editing and local building/compiling heavy projects. I'm glad I took this configuration then with the way prices are now and don't see myself replacing this for another few years.

Is there any reason this wouldn't work with an apple pencil too?
I'm not surprised. I used Claude Code for the first time again since April because I had been hearing good things about Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1, but I was shocked by how bad the harness is and how its only gotten worse since spring? I may be doing something wrong, but getting Opus/Fable to properly spin up non-blocking sub-agents takes like four or five attempts and it still cannot reliably poll tasks like test suites that take more than 30 seconds for proper completion.

I think even if you have the world's best model (not my opinion, but seems to be the popular consensus these days with Anthropic), if the harness around it sucks none of that intelligence is going to matter.

My Claude Code usage stats after ~3 months of heavy use:

Favorite model: Opus 4.6 Total tokens: 42.6m
    Sessions: 420 Longest session: 10d 2h 13m
Active days: 53/95 Longest streak: 16 days
Most active day: Feb 9 Current streak: 4 days

    ~158x more tokens than Moby-Dick

Monthly breakdown via claude-code-monitor (not sure how accurate this is):

    Month Total Tokens Cost (USD)
    2026-01 96,166,569 $112.66
    2026-02 340,158,917 $393.44
    2026-03 2,183,154,148 $3,794.51
    2026-04 1,832,917,712 $3,412.72
    ─────────────────────────────────────
    Total 4,452,397,346 $7,713.34

Tell HN: Instagram suspended my friend's business without warning or recourse

My friend Clio has spent the past few years building her own fashion brand in NYC. She painstakingly designs all of her clothes by hand, putting months of effort into single pieces.Clio recently released her fall-winter 2023 collection. She has a website for her brand (https://cliogalea.com/pages/fw23-angel-fire-disco-club), but in NYC in the fashion industry most business is still conducted on...

I shoot a lot of photos at techno raves and I shoot exclusively on 800 ISO film rated at 3200 ISO. The environments are dark with lots of movement. Not being able to see the results until I get the roll developed keeps me in the moment and I love the delayed gratification I get when the photos turn out well.

Hi blparker,

I'll be graduating this May 2019 from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities with dual BS degrees in Computer Science and Statistical Science. For the past 6 months I've been interning at a commerce analytics company where I built a RESTful web service in Python 3.7, and prior to that I worked at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute where I gained experience with various big data frameworks.

The software engineering position sounds like it'd be a great fit for me given my statistics background. I also have experience applying/designing machine learning models and completed the graduate level ML classes at the U of M.

Asking candidly, would it be worth it for me to apply? Or is this position not open to new graduates? I am very interested and I'd love to discuss this opening with you more by phone or email, if possible.

Best,

~Mark
