The name Cider is not from Cloud IDE, stems from Critique (the code review), which is addressed via cr/ - Cider is the IDE in Critique: cIDEr.
The paper has plenty of things, but seems to me the gist of it is that they want to secure the public procurement cash flow in lieu of venture capital? I may be reading this wrong, but all the labels and normative proposals listed point to that.
and Fine Artist, don't forget! fond moments from my childhood on that sweet HP Vectra 386 <3

I do the same, but with ConnectBot and Gemini CLI. I have found ssh sufficiently good (mosh required some port forwarding dance, that Tailscale may have solved for the author).

one extra thing to mention is he role of Telefonica here. they are both an ISP that needs to apply the blocks, but also its subsidiary "Telefonica Audiovisual", who holds rights for the football, is a plaintiff.
one of the claims were that this is somewhat a procedural fraud since the plaintiff (Telefonica Audiovisual) and the defendant (Telefonica Spain) is technically the same thing. the order was granted after the defendants admitted, and therefore there wasn't any hearing with CF.

I've been running as SRE for the last decade, running critical stuff like authentication (which mostly all services depend on). I'm a software engineer.
I cannot disagree more: our team is healthy, oncall is quite a fine activity to do (and compensated, of course), we have plenty of engineering work to do.
I've had five promotions (and tripled salary) and done so working on plenty rewarding activities over time. I've done from deployment automation, to capacity planning, distributed system design, large data migrations, designing ietf standards for auth protocols, wrote client sdks, now we even do AI for different things (including model development).
I'd recommend to not generalize from "I didn't like it / the experience wasn't a match for me" to "the role is shitty".

wild speculation: they were rolling out enforcement for DMA.
it seems to cover the whole RFC 1918 (IPv4) and 4193 (IPv6), so not only 192.168.0.0/16 like some media indicated.

The Trilogue happens today, and this is pretty much going under the radar in mainstream media, so it is very very likely Article 45 comes to be approved as soon as this afternoon :(
The author does not seem to provide any proof or example of why Passkeys are "weak" or "flawed". Anyone has some references about that? Would love to know if it's the case.
IIUC, he's referring to a workflow that Gerrit implements 1-to-1, isn't he?
IIUC the DP is using an alternate mode that should be available, even if USB signaling is only 2.0.
What's the economics that make these prices so low in comparison to other cloud providers? (asking with real curiosity)
I find it funny that this site is speaking about others, but itself is worse: you just can't see the contents of the article, which is laying behind 4 layers of ads, including a video and a half-screen-high banner.
The counter argument is hijacking: these accounts are more prone to be stolen and used for spam and impersonation.
I see plenty of results from Google about this string, from multiple sources and multiple types (video, news and classic links). Unclear about that deterioration.
I was on the boat of "Apple hardware will last longer and service will be superior" for many years (being Apple user since 2001). Recent changes in macOS got me to decide to get a ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Gen 9) for work and I must say that not being a cheap device either, it's on par in hardware quality (does not have an M1/M2, but still more than enough) and battery it's about 7-8 hours. The nice thing is that is gonna last really long since I can just keep updating Debian for many years to come.
