Hi, I'm a web developer from Poland with 13+ years of experience working on Front-End side of web applications.
I love creating nice and useful things for the Internet people.
At the moment I feel most comfortable in working on Vue.js-powered Single Page Applications. Don't get it wrong though, I totally believe in can-do mindset and learning other frameworks shouldn't be a huge problem - in the end it's just a tool (that said I also know basics of React.js). My current free-time focus is oriented towards HTML5 game development (and I would love to learn more if possible about it, but it's not a must-have!).
My current contract lasts until the end of this year (so that I am available since January 2024).
Location: Poland
Remote: Totally looking for :)
Willing to relocate: Not an option, sorry :/

Hi, I'm a web developer from Poland with 13+ years of experience working on Front-End side of web applications.I love creating nice and useful things for the Internet people.
At the moment I feel most comfortable in working on Vue.js-powered Single Page Applications. Don't get it wrong though, I totally believe in can-do mindset and learning other frameworks shouldn't be a huge problem - in the end it's just a tool (that said I also know basics of React.js). As a side note: In my opinion the closest replacement for Flash is currently Construct 3 engine - you should definitely take a look on it! (I'm not associated with Construct 3 team (Scirra) by any means - I'm just a happy user of their product)
Also I've learned recently about https://androidarts.com/ and still browsing through it - such a great inspiration source!
I've also started drinkin way more water (earlier I was drinking coffee only and diet Coke)
(disclaimer: I'm a front-end developer (and making games in my spare time using various tools) and for my needs I've never found a serious complain about how WSL works)
I don't know around half of my closest neighbours
It's not that I don't want to get to know them, it's that everyone are so busy (me included) that I don't simply have time to align with them to learn more about them better.
Also, tons of people are moving in and moving out all the time.
It wasn't the case in my home village - I knew a lot of people and even more people (my parent friends that I didn't know) knew who I was. I could bet at that time that if something bad was going on for me, there would be someone who will help me without any struggle.
In my current place is different. Even my relatives who stayed in my home town can agree that even there a lot of people are moving in and out and they don't know all of the townspeople anymore.
Pros:
- beautiful, bright display with 16:10 aspect ratio
- comfortable keyboard with backlight
- pretty decent battery life for my programming needs
- port selection (1 x USB 3.2 (2 Gen), 2x Thunderbolt 4, HDMI and audio jack)
- good performance
- beautiful design
Cons:
- if you try to run some games on it (it has Iris Xe Graphic card) - it will become hot very quickly
I've choose Zenbook, because I had one in the past (UX32LN model) - and it still holds up pretty well and works flawlessly while being used for office stuff by my wife (it will have 7 years now)
Ask HN: Any horror stories of having Gmail suspended in paid plan?
Hi everyone, since there were plenty horror storries of people having their google account randomly suspended and couldn't get it back I have following question: is there any known scenario when it has happened for a gmail paid plan user? Some backstory of this question:For some time I've been trying to move all my important services to use my custom-domain e-mail address but I'm still very...
I was never stressed out in terms of English language (I'm from Poland) because I've rarely (never) switched game languages to any other language than English.
When I was ~10 years old I've played through whole Final Fantasy 8 which I was obsessed at the time thanks to my older brother with a PAPER dictionary on the desk (I was translating stuff that I didn't understand) and I think that was the most effective way and time when I've learned most of the English language in my life.
Now I'm trying to encourage slowly my kids and I switch game languages they play from time to time.
When I read it today I miss those soo oversimplified solutions to do stuff :'-)
Ask HN: Best windows-based laptop keyboard in 2022?
Like in title - I've recently launched off my dusted Surface Book 2 and gosh - I do miss this keyboard - its look and feedback is so satisfying to work with.I've recently switched to MSI GS66 Stealth laptop, but the keyboard experience has no match to Surface Book's one - has anyone have a suggestions about laptop with an extraordinary keyboard to type on?
Then it's being sync'ed to our home NAS, which is manually turned on and connected to the Internet once in a while (like once per month or so) - it has 2 HDDs connected as a RAID (so there's a 2nd copy of the 1st one).
Besides that, every year close to Chrismas we're sitting together and selecting photos from last year we would like to print for ourselves and our relatives (which are then put into the album).
When our cloud storage is close to 100%, we're just wiping everything there,as delete procedure does not sync into our NAS (it was configured like that on purpose).
- if it's an article related to my interests and that fits for the overall contents I share on twitter - I simply tweet about it.
- if it's code-related (e.g. github repo) - I just "star" it
- if it's something else - it depends what category it is, because I have two bookmark folders in the browser: "4 later" (so that if something seems to be interesting but I don't have time right now to read it) or "saved" folder where I just put something that I would like to have bookmarked (I've also have then nested year sub-folders (as I don't bookmark THAT often that this approach wouldn't be sufficient for me)).
- if something is very important for me, I simply send an e-mail to myself with tagged content so I can easily find it through e-mail search engine later - I have a dedicated e-mail suffix for this (imagine [email protected]) and it automatically goes archived into "bookmarks" folder instead to inbox.
