I run my desktop environment on the iGPU and the AI stuff on the dGPUs.
I built a similar system, meanwhile I've sold one of the RTX 3090's. Local inference is fun and feels liberating, but it's also slow, and once I was used to the immense power of the giant hosted models, the fun quickly disappeared.

I've kept a single GPU to still be able to play a bit with light local models, but not anymore for serious use.

That was the vibe I was getting when visiting the site, they seem to understand fear pretty well. Stay away for your own mental health :-)

Brave also exhibits this behavior, turning off shields fixes the issue.

I have more issues with self control on my computer than on my smartphone. Anyone's got any tips for that one?

That green checkmark ... what application is this?
If a lot of very smart people didn’t find a single example in all the years knot theory has existed, it obviously is not that obvious.
Re:Google is killing the open web on Tuesday August 19, 2025 @07:46AM (#44950524)
Google is a corporation maximizing shareholder value. That this goal is not aligned with serving the greater good and freedom should come as no surprise.

Oh, that's cool, do you have a reference for that?

What China is to the US, the US is to the rest of the world. This doesn't really help the conversation, the problem is more general.
Setup looks very sexy.
Re:The EU could be scanning your chats by October 2025 on Tuesday July 29, 2025 @04:32AM (#44720695)
I don't know how it will go in practice, but next to the obvious mass surveillance by the EU itself, the EU also has a couple of Russian vasal states in its ranks. Great idea you guys!
Strange question, why would it be impossible?
Not really, in JFK terminal 4 at least, you get your luggage after passing through immigration.
Sure, if you want to look extra suspicious.
Praying for peace will definitely help.
I’m bothered by the clunky/unrealistic movement of game characters and wonder how hard it would be to fix.
You can’t convince people with logic I’m afraid.
Move fast and break encryption.
Re:Rustls Server-Side Performance on Saturday May 17, 2025 @08:17AM (#44013742)
Out of curiosity, rustls uses aws-lc-rs which in turn uses aws-lc, which is in turn "based on code from the Google BoringSSL project and the OpenSSL project."

You're trying to get rid of OpenSSL, but you're actually relying on OpenSSL code. Sounds a bit iffy imo. Can somebody provide a bit more depth here?

Or is it just the OpenSSL TLS API that is hopelessly confusing and bug inducing? I can imagine that the crypto primitives in OpenSSL are very solid.

An unmissable browser plugin is “clickbait remover for youtube” (or whatever it is called), it replaces the video preview image by a still taken from somewhere else in the video.
Re:DeepMind releases Lyria 2 music generation model on Friday April 25, 2025 @04:00AM (#43791316)
Maybe they're playing the long game and using this to train on musician's input to prepare for the final blow.
Can the other countries implement “export tariffs” on said goods? Would be a nice move to mess with Trump.
So the US has been, more or less, the best place in the world to do business. Stocks historically soaring, yadda yadda yadda ... and somehow this guy sells the story that the US has been taking advantage of by all the other evil countries in the world. It does not, in any way, make sense. What a clown. A totalitorian clown unfortunately.
Yup, who wants to get deeper in business with a party you cannot - in any case - trust?
Re:Stop Syncing Everything on Wednesday April 02, 2025 @01:49AM (#43553976)
I don’t believe SQLite has that kind of permissions system.
Re:Best Linux distro in 2025 for non-experts on Tuesday April 01, 2025 @11:06AM (#43547686)
Fedora, and maybe opt for the KDE-spin, it's a bit more Windows like.
