this is an absolutely beautiful markdown implementation.
'physical world around me has expanded'
care to elaborate?
i like how you made it more succinct by changing it to "Change needs feedback" but your drawn out explanation makes you sound like a person who doesn't know how to provide feedback
just so im clear, this is someone in a pizza shop looking at a windows kiosk with a camera?
it would be interesting to see the ad and how / if it changes based on who is watching
i would love something like this for free bitbucket private repos, is there any planned support? realtime updates would also be great
site is throwing application error
Would wifi calling help in a situations like these?
For myself I thought it bothered me because of how I was raised (not to chew with mouth open, smacking sounds, eat quietly, etc)
Ghost runs on express for those interested, so its very easy to extend if need be
some people go for the heat because of the endorphin rush associated with spicy peppers, see Capsaicin -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsaicin - which also has analgesic properties.
I've read somewhere that the body releases endorphins because you trick it into thinking its in pain (and for some it is painful) but if you enjoy eating spicy foods this might explain why you'd want to push the envelope.
No pain no gain :)
i hardly ever get bit but i know people who are bitten all the time. i'm sure there is something here, unless i am getting bitten and don't have a physical reaction.
hilarious but true in many cases
i'm with you, it takes someone to be at least a little bit crazy to do a job like this under those circumstances.
i always wonder how lonely these people are in their day to day lives, but maybe they derive satisfaction from their hectic work lives instead of human relationships.
i know i've been there before from my own hectic work schedules, caught up in the love affair of a high pressure work environment.
the conversation with the imgur ceo was my favorite part of this piece. for those interested:
> GIFV is not actually a distinct file format, but it is an MP4 or WebM video that is presented via a HTML 5 video element or an Adobe Flash element with options set so as to make it work similarly to an animated GIF (i.e. endless loop with no video controls visible

So the final image is composed of other images pieced together? This makes me feel like the final product is closer to an illusion than what the insect would look like at higher zoom levels. Regardless the outcome was stunning
godaddy is notorious for this when you are purchasing or renewing a domain
watching the video the pigs seem pretty comfy for the most part. i would have thought they'd be squealing and writhing
the one thing that bothers me about slack is the notification model - i am always distracted and compelled to check notifications (whether they are relevant or not). as such i try to minimize the application and only respond when im called out by name and or channel or @here notifications are posted, but still there are also channel users who abuse these notification broadcasting features.
its amazing to me that with all the money and talent in the bay area, that noone has made progressive efforts in solving some of the problems with homelessness and helping others get back on their feet.
for me, its the realization that if i don't get what I want, i risk feeling disheartened about my job in the future - especially if its a job i enjoy.
there is a risk/reward benefit that one enters by asking for a raise, where if all things were to stay the same, I could walk away relatively unscathed.
this could change depending on whether or not you were asking for a raise because you feel you deserve it, financial necessity, or both.
slightly related, but check out consequences of an insightful algorithm - which speaks to the unintentional ethical failures we make as technology continues to progress and become more powerful.

some of the pitfalls to intuition echo the side effects of programming by coincidence, outlined in pragmatic programmer
https://pragprog.com/the-pragmatic-programmer/extracts/coinc...> Don’t code blindfolded. Attempting to build an application you don’t fully understand, or to use a technology you aren’t familiar with, is an invitation to be misled by coincidences.
I would always advise first checking any listed glassdoor salaries (if there are any) to ensure you are getting paid fairly for your position.
The trickiest component of remote work is communication. Ask other team members how they collaborate effectively and the tools used to do so.
Working from home is a perk in itself but its not for everyone. Sometimes I find myself going into the office just to get out of the house.
what are stagefright bugs?
