Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with tools that compile to javascript? (i.e. CoffeScript, ClojureScript, pyjamas, and the like.)

I'm a big fan of trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, and Cardfight! Vanguard, from the story being told by the cards, to the possibilities available with each draw of a card. However, I live in a city that doesn't have a game shop where I can find people to play with, and I can't drive.There are three main questions I want my product to answer.
1. How do I make it easier for...
I do not, unfortunately. Development is going well, and I hope to have a prototype within the week.

I was talking with my dad about his work when he started complaining about the volume of email he gets. After looking through his email, I started thinking about how people use email and where it fits in the workplace. I'm a fan of GTD, so my concept is a tool that handles your email, tweets, Facebook posts, and Google+ shares as next actions in the GTD system.Down the road, I'd like to offer a...

There are more than 8,000 known web APIs in existence, ofOfering from weather, to financial data, to the ability to search inside libraries. One thing I haven't found, however, is one API that lets the skilled developer manipulate and search multiple APIs at once.A few questions.
* I'm currently using a SQL style language to make adding more advanced features easier on my part, but if someone...

For mental health reasons, my parents and I are considering a communal home instead of living alone, but I would rather live someplace geek friendly. Are there any such places? Thank you for your time and consideration.

I'm working on a startup (That I've talked about here a couple of times.), and I'm trying to find a co-founder. I have two questions.1. I live in a small town in northeast Colorado, is there anything I can do until I can get moved to Denver to start looking?2. I'm blind, (Not totally, but for all intents and purposes I'm considered blind.) How important should this be when talking to a...

About eight days ago, I asked for advice about starting an on-line college that offers small classes and teaches using the tutorial method. (1)
After talking with friends and family, and thinking about pewpewlasergun's advice, I've decided to do is create a service that offers a full range of courses on technology.Some example courses:
* Introduction to Mac OSX
* Introduction to Linux
*...
Thank you for your input, and I think I'm going to build a school for tech-based entrepreneurs, possibly walking the students from concept to launch, and teaching programming, system administration, and more as needed.
I need to get some sleep or I'll lose myself in this idea. :)

I had a professor who graduated from University of Cambridge, where they use a tutorial style course system, (for more information check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tutorial_system, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Cambridge#Teaching, and http://oxcheps.new.ox.ac.uk/Publications/Resources/OxCHEPS_OP1_08.pdf (PDF)) which I think would work really well on the web.The two main...
Backend: Haskell, Yesod, Arch Linux.

I've done some django development in the past and I'm looking to expand my horizons by learning Rails. Does anyone know of good tutorials or other resources aimed at people with previous web development experience looking to learn rails? Strangely, google hasn't turned up much that's useful.
Maybe I need to just move to the metro-Denver area instead, seeing as I know my way around their public transportation really well.
excelent, thank you! Now to get my code done.

I'm a blind person and I'm looking at applying to YC with a startup idea I'm working on, however because I can't drive I'm wondering what public transportation is like in the San Fransico bay area. is there a website that has information availabke?
Very interesting. although I can't help but wonder, other than possibly starting silicon valley sooner, what would have changed if apple had been located in San Jose?

(Sorry about the mispost.) I've been looking at both desktop and web-based software for David Allen's "Getting Things Done", but one thing I haven't been able to find is a service that lets you sync your project and action lists between the web, computer, and smartphones, si I've decided to fill that gap. Does anyone think I'll be able to succeed in this alresady saturated market? Or am I...

Around the 16th or so, my laptop quit booting, and while it's being looked at by my best friend, I’m looking for a new laptop. I have two problems that will make affording a new laptop hard;1. I take home around $670 a month. (SSI, because it’s next to impossible to find private health insurance for my medical condition, panhypopituitarism, so I’m on adult Medicaid.)
2. I have no credit. (My...
I had honestly considered writing my website in common lisp, but discarded that idea because I couldn't find good documentation for the RESTAS web framework.
PageKite looks like it might work, thanks.
