u can do all this with react and tailwind tho lol.
Re:Gravity Seems Holographic. What Does That Mean for Reality? on Saturday September 26, 2026 @01:15AM (#49853422)
If everyone was just taught quantum physics with lattice field theory at the beginning, everyone on earth would understand physics at any level, no clickbait mystic level black hole hologram physics trying to do mental gymnastics. want to study physics harder? Increase resolution add more parameters and bake into some formula for application ...done
Re:The Relation Between Mathematics and Physics by Paul Dirac on Friday September 18, 2026 @04:46AM (#49751698)
if you think of universe as minecraft lattice (which is arguably best way to think of it and explain all of physics currently in existence in intuitive level) then yea, it can be like eg a spin lattice discrete at some plank length from which field perturbations as particles emerge..look up spin lattice from https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0507118 so basically bringing back idea of quantum ether cuz explaining empty space with waves without some underlying structure doesn't really make sense anyway since all other waves have mediums in nature.
Re:The Relation Between Mathematics and Physics by Paul Dirac on Thursday September 17, 2026 @12:59PM (#49743542)
universe is continuous / cant be proven otherwise but any measurement or simulation of it is discrete by nature same reason pi is computed infinitely and why calculus exists and why math exists at all to try and explain continuity of nature even if all of it is perceived discretely.
And since AI is trained on your code and my code. Your code is now my code and my code is now your code :)
cant you just use ur own git server?
ai gonna get orders of magnitude more Op so just stop coping go outside and touch grass
fun fact: u have to pay for air on mars :)
no video, never happened

Re:The Internet is not dead on Sunday May 17, 2026 @06:29PM (#48173747)
its more dead when all of the knowledge is compressed into models
Re:Greenhouse and Icehouse Earth on Thursday May 14, 2026 @12:27AM (#48131103)
fun fact we are still like 5c below optimal biomass temp.
u mean dynamic execution like when developing as in to reflect ur changes, or running on production hardware? for example if im in dev i def wanna be able ti tweak code in real time and have it instantly reflect changes for fast feedback loop but when in prod i want it packed tight and performant w/ all the flags on etc etc, so ideally i wanna be able to develop in dynamic but deploy to static. for exmaple in game im building rn, i have ts modules that swap in with optimized zig. there are strict api rules such that i can always tweak logic and optimize in ts and have the ai auto translate into native and there is a test that checks output memory to make sure its equivalent w/ bench test tool so it can just run in a loop until its done optimizing...this is beat pattern for me rn to treat ai as like some sort of second order compiler.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on (non-AI)? on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @03:11PM (#48126117)
yea trying to get beta out for an online game. using deepski and its cheap af rn discount 75% im still at $4 usage after a week of it chugging, and ppl say its not as good as the other models but we are at point where they all distilled off each other and are within margins such that u just pick cheapest one and it works ok as the others, eg none of them are gonna give u anything novel by default if u dont know what ur doing anyway but they can just autocomplete stuff pretty well and explain / find bugs answer questions etc well enough so idk what that means
thats crazy but if u wanted to write js and it be fast and small size wouldnt it be better to write some compiler that compiles it into llvm?
i dont get it.

WELCOME TO COSTCO I LOVE YOU
Re:Parallel Agents in Zed on Thursday April 23, 2026 @04:46AM (#47873526)
tried using zed but when i use codex cli, when agent updates file, it doesn't even register in the "buffer" (why call it buffer? trying to be different?), i have to close the file and open it back up again for it to update the file contents which creates bugs where i edit some other thing in file and save (no "overwrite warning" which i get in vscode) it just overwrites the file....so the editor is just plain buggy.
u can delete ur data in all of the platforms / use offline / use openrouter with crypto account...literally countless options.
Re:New search engine reveals if ancestors were in Nazi party on Wednesday April 15, 2026 @01:34PM (#47782408)
can you do search engine that pairs me with descendants of people that murdered each other, eg my great great grandfather killed/got killed by someone elses great grandfather and i get pair w/ their ancestors and we do like a counterstrike match or something
Iran taking USD bribe instead of obtaining nukes made it worse for them in long run.
how does debt mean anything if u control the ability to mint tokens that u use to pay the debt?
where do they get money for both moon and war at the same time?
Re:Adults Lose Skills to AI. Children Never Build Them on Sunday March 29, 2026 @06:25AM (#47561893)
meh....even before AI i remember memorizing random facts and dumping...the teacher would give flashcards for students to learn they just memorize and then forget. i felt more like some sort of special form of brain cache where i would just dump information in and then flush it after an exam...so maybe its good for imporving some sort of brain feature of short term memory, but i dont think the issue is having access to better information processing.

systematic government education is like a one size shoe fits all passing down information bc ppl die and cant hold those correct brain patterns so civilization does not get lost (which may not even be as relevant with any sort of AGI). but individual people have different goals and values. I think education should be more about identifying those goals for the children and letting them figure things out on their own through their own journeys with some sort of feedback loop within some sort of controlled sandbox so they don't "veer" off into paths that are known as harmful for themselves or others and this can be done with AI... maybe where each kid just gets their own tutor and maybe they place them in special personality matching groups or something to improve social abilities with creative play...maybe people need to interact with world in more flexible way to learn through feedback not through indoctrination.

like i can see even modern primitive ai being 99% than most teachers now anyway, a teacher just midlessly tells you want u need to know, they have no ability to understand each individual child on personal level or their level, values, abilities etc to put them on the right path for successs.

cool im also building game on top of my own typescript/zig engine at lerp.io. I also have webrtc but i dont think we need that anymore because we have webtransport now, right?
Re:Adults Lose Skills to AI. Children Never Build Them on Saturday March 28, 2026 @04:34AM (#47552720)
dont you gain skills with ai? it teaches you how to do stuff, you ask it questions, etc like a tutor?
strait closed is only applicable for usa ally ships so ur country just needs to be neutral or iran ally.. for american its not applicable bc they have their own oil/venezuela
Re:The Three Pillars of JavaScript Bloat on Sunday March 22, 2026 @03:56AM (#47475371)
just make react native to browser and everything else thats a one off can be ai generated
but what if ai gets an ass...
