Ever since I started orchestrating multiple agent sessions in Claude Code, it's always been a challenge to keep track of which sessions are ongoing, need my input and are complete. Sometimes, there are 5+ agents running at the same time. I usually keep a single terminal window with multiple tabs and an agent view tab.One thing I usually do is go do something else while my agents are working,...

i use multiple Claude products, and i constantly check my usage limits, but there was never an instant way to do it. i kept opening claude ai > settings > usage or hitting /usage in the cli.i wanted a way to have that information always visible and at reach. so i built usagent. it's a macOS menu bar app always showing usage limits, the 5h window and the weekly window. by default, usagent...

I now work at the intersection of agentic coding and evaluation. I built an agentic coding tool by hand to understand agents below the frameworks, then built a lab to evaluate them, and published both the study and the reasoning that made me stop. Currently working on a floating persistent terminal and running an independent audit of the session_success metric in the SWE-chat dataset. Open to roles

prabhanjana_c,
we now have a min-width for starboard, which will sit above the dock when it's too wide.
make sure to comment your use case or even contribute in the project
hey prabhanjana_c, thanks for the feedback.
new release: a new 0.8.2 version was released and starboard now expands ignoring the dock and centering itself on the screen. it still sits above apps though.
the default width you're experiencing is most likely because your dock is wide. if you want more room in the default starboard, i'd recommend reducing dock's height and removing apps you don't naturally open from the dock. starboard will automatically resize itself and have more room.
the new expanded version might help you now. however, for your workflow, i'd recommend using starboard for fast ambient stuff (open VS Code for project X, sort downloads, quick disk check...) and a real terminal for claude code sessions.
i use claude code on starboard though and it persists across desktops which helps.
tell me how you feel about the new change and what other use cases you're using starboard for
hey marshallku, it does support. download the newest version. when dock is on the left, starboard defaults to the bottom right corner, same for right side dock and auto hide. what kind of commands are you most using?
starboard currently assumes a bottom dock and 1 monitor. how many of you use left/right dock placement, multi-monitor, and auto-hide? how is your setup? working on improvements in whatever order you guys need
tks! are you using it for any use case?
tks! are you using it for any use case?
that's the motivation, how are you using it?
got some people using starboard so some updates:
(1) starboard now expands to full height, you can run agents and longer processes now
(2) starboard is now also a downloadable app, macOS will warn the dev can't be verified because it's ad-hoc signed, just hit privacy & security -> open anyway, step by step in the README.md
(3) source is still there if you want to read it yourself and build
it's a nice framing, it's the same family, but think of starboard as a quake console that's never dismissed and never steals focus, glued to the dock in a way that doesn't interfere with anything else, an now expands for longer processes (i.e. running agents) thanks to your feedbacks
hey Maphielbso, now Cmd+E expands it to 100% height when you need to see larger chunks, and btw I started running my agents in starboard because of this... nice call. Cmd+E snaps it back to dock height
i thought about it, but starboard is glued to the dock. I'm thinking of two alternatives: (1) make it expand as needed; (2) a button to open a terminal/ghostty window.
what use case are you thinking for starboard? running agents?

Every single day of my life since I started programming back in 2020 I open my projects through the terminal/ghostty. "cd path" + "code .". Until today I don't even know how to open vscode first then open a project from there.I usually have 3-4 vscode windows open at the same time, and I like them in separate desktops (for mac users). i gotta admit, i use 8 desktops, 3-4 for vscode, 1 for arc,...
