This is an exceptional setup, thank you for sharing it! I have a few questions:
1. This setup seems work-heavy. Are there any personal AI workflows that you've implemented to advance your personal goals / hobbies?
2. As one of the few people with a software factory, how well do you think it works in practice? Do you implement any rule that lets the agents to work on tickets only up to a certain complexity, and no more?
3. As CTO, how do you weigh implementing these agent workflows for yourself versus implementing them team-wide? Do you see your setup as a testbed of ideas for your team?
On a meta note, I love seeing others share their setups and I'll probably do the same later.
To Anthropic: I hope you don't merge Claude Code and chat, I like keeping their memory separate.
I understand the need for it to be in Siemens NX, but do they really run it in Windows VMs? As far as I know NX isn't certified to run in VMs without Nvidia GPU passthrough (aka Macs). It seems more sensible to maintain a fleet of Windows desktops specifically for CAD and industrial control.
Where do I find participants for my user studies then?
Your public website / blog? Sometimes you want services that are accessible publicly, like your observability and logging servers (eliminates the VPN point of failure).
I own one and there's nothing shameful about it. It's basically CNCed to Apple's standards, just without the logo. The cool thing is since Studio Displays work on Windows too, with Thunderbolt motherboards you can have a setup that's visually the same as a Mac but is actually a PC.
P.S. Does anyone know how well Studio Displays now work on Linux? The best I could get it to work was on Ubuntu, where it basically worked out of the fresh install. X11 KDE on Fedora was a close second. Couldn't get it working on Wayland whatsoever.
Agreed, but I'm making a distinction between the platform (whether it be Cloudflare Moltworker or a Mac Mini), which a human chooses for the agent to run on (for now), and tools designed to be discovered and consumed by the agents themselves (e.g. code.storage, AgentMail).
I have a suspicion most of these types of agent-targeted SaaS will die out once the human equivalents implement their agent layers / MCPs.
Agents having no way to pay for their use is one thing; lack of deep integration within the business domain is another (e.g. if you're a Git provider, you'd probably want to offer CI/CD, PR workflows, release management, publicly discoverable repos etc., and boom - you just copied GitHub)
As the psychiatrist Iain McGilchrist says, "Attention is a moral act: it creates, brings aspects of things into being"

I'm so sorry for you and your wife's loss. At the same time, I'm struck by how strong your wife and you are navigating this tough situation. From an Internet stranger to another, may the loving memories of your daughter live on.
I feel like this needs a (1997) on the title.
Why the condescending tone, OP has a point. Techniques like RigAnything[0] exist - whether this is within the scope of this project is another topic, but this seems like a reasonable request to me (especially considering how many x_2_y-named projects are ML related)

I call it my "homeprod" - but then, what happens if your infra spans multiple sites, and the cloud? Then it's just "prod" at that point. Probably best to just call it your "personal infra / servers", or if you have a family, "family servers".
This is big. Hopefully no more relying on macFUSE which is unmaintained and a pain to install and work with.
This is similar to how a (cheap) DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter worked, the adapter itself is completely passive.
Many devices with DisplayPort output support multimode, which allows the device to switch from outputting DP packets to outputting TMDS-based HDMI or DVI signals. You'll sometimes see a ++DP logo on these ports.
This is also why you don't see a cheap HDMI(source)-to-DisplayPort(sink) adapter, the smarts just aren't built into the source device.
Thank you for the link, it was very insightful.
This is a good approach for reading research papers in a new field too.
Most interesting thing to me is how switching to coreboot fixed the freezing. Do you have a theory of why that might happen? I wonder if it's ACPI/DSDT related or if HW controllers were initialized incorrectly using the original BIOS.

I think this is a great idea and I do see a need in high-value freelance services that can benefit from better presentation, e.g. design / architecture studios.
That being said, 1% without a cap is still a lot! If I make $80k annually from my services, Portal would be $800 - and at that price point I have lots of alternatives that may not look as nice but can be just as efficient and WAY cheaper once the pipeline is set up - e.g. Basecamp, Notion templates for freelancers. Curious to know how you think about the pricing.
My first thought was this button would be harder to reach for people with disabilities. It's probably to save space for the IO at the back but they could have gone with a smaller, iPhone-esque power button.
The truly Apple thing to do is if they figured out a way to use the Touch ID button on the Magic Keyboard as a power button when the Mac mini is off.
That being said, the power button can be redirected to the back or front with 3D printed compliant mechanisms.
I'd say the daily "visual clutter" of living in Chinese cities is on par or more than other cities, like Tokyo.
In Shenzhen for example, it's not uncommon to see police wearing flashing sirens on their shoulders as part of their uniform. Motorcyclists share the same road as pedestrians, and with so many delivery app drivers you're always on the lookout to avoid being hit.
On SZ and Beijing metro trains, video ads are projected inside tunnels, matching the speed of the carriage - example: https://youtu.be/sp7KDNKpVhY
Personally I've seen much more advertising on Chinese shopping apps like Taobao, compared to say Amazon. Cluttercore advertising seems to be a deeply rooted culture there.
