What's going to give first? Interest rates? House Prices?
I was on the market to buy a place. First time home owner jitters, but interest rates started to rise fast. Buying power dropped so much that I'm dropped out. At these rates, I really need the price to drop by 20%-ish. I'm sitting on cash and it feels like shit. I wonder how other people feel.
I'm okay. Just got surgery on my eyes to correct my strabismus. I'm taking a week off of work.
I taking my last OMSCS class, but the pressure is on to pass.
Overall, life is okay. Could be worse but I'm fine.
I'm on working on my masters with gaTech's OMSCS. Taking a summer class atm, and will finish in the fall. Going to start on a new job search and maybe TA a class too.
What you suggest sounds like the model minority myth.
7/10 One job sucked and found a new one. New gig is okay. I think my expectations for work has decreased.
Now that I think about it, both. But when I posted, more specifically to technical issues. e.g. When a concept was really foreign what did you do.
Totally awesome!
I just have one question.
When you got blocked or felt like you hit a wall, what did you do?

Like the title says. 2016 I switched jobs because I got bored. But now I'm in the same predicament. I have more fun on my side projects, but I don't have an opportunity to apply the skills at work. A friend of mine recommended that I go to grad school.Who do I know if something is wrong with my environment or my expectations(or me)?
Damn this is just like mine.
Good luck!
A react clone of a Ember app...
Quitting jobs.
I've quitted jobs without letting my employer that I was unhappy or disgruntled. In retrospect I should have let them know before I jumped ship; mainly because the grass is rarely greener on the other side and some of them could have changed.
I had to teach CS in Africa with very few resources e.g. electricity and working pc's.
The best thing I found http://csunplugged.org/
Having a standards guide or a robo-linters should remove a large chunk of it. Deferring to a document is much easier then arguing.
> evidence of the world-class productivity of American workers.
This was repeated a couple of times. I think we get the point.
As an engineer I ask for more cash so I can use options. I usually get it.
What about the non-techinical employee? I generally feel marketing, sales, etc are screwed in startups. How can a someone making < 75k actually use their options?
I keep seeing comparisons between Angular & React VS insert latest, but leaving out Ember. Are React and Angular solving different problems then Ember?
This just happened to me. 3 weeks in I realized the code base needs to be re-written because there was way too much technical debt. I should have quit then, but I decided to give it try. 6 months later, I hand in my two weeks notice.
Why cut these services?!
Is Florida going to add more police, social workers, ER doctors and etc deal with the consequences?

My main focus for the last few years has been data visualization. But right now, I'm looking for a engineering focus team that cares about the craft.
Cool thanks! I'm thinking about applying.
Random question, what is your opinion about the GT's remote masters?
maybe she'll run for president in a few years.
There are multiple postings for `Cloudera`, could you consolidate?
Do you have a gh repo? I really am interested in the story telling and ML aspects of the post.
This is great, I can't find the source though.
