Hey all, I was recently let go from my job as a data scientist. I've got around 2 YOE in data and 4 YOE in SWE. Ideally looking for work as a data scientist or MLE, but open to data engineering and general SWE as well.

My situation with remote work is a bit complicated at the moment, but I'd most prefer short-term hybrid work in NYC or full-time in California either starting in the summer or working remote until then.

About me: I've got around five years of experience combining SWE, data science, and data engineering. In my professional career I've built educational apps for business schools, data pipelines for the Federal Reserve, a prototype NLP app for a large educational publisher, and I'm currently working on data analysis, ML, and economic modelling in the transportation sector.

I'm ideally looking for data science, data analysis, or data engineering job, but I could be open to the right SWE job especially if it touches on the data world.

Show HN: Modle, a Machine Learning Guessing Game

https://modle.site/

Hi all, I've been working on this project on-and-off for the past couple of weeks and wanted to share it here. It's a little game where you are shown the decision boundary of a ML classification algorithm and have to guess which algorithm did the classifying.I wouldn't suggest viewing it on mobile at this point, but it should work on tablet or computer. If you see any bugs, please let me know...

Hi all, I'm a software engineer turned grad student (dual MS in Econ and CS) turned data scientist. I'm mainly looking for data scientist jobs, but I'm also open to anything in data engineering, ML engineering, or even plain old software engineering (as long as it's not pure frontend). Right now I'm working as an economic consultant, but I'm looking to switch to something more technical. If my experience sounds right for you, go ahead and shoot me an email!

Show HN: Debunked Modelling the LOCO Conspiracy Corpus

https://www.logan-cooper.com/conspiracy-network/

Hi all, I recently finished up a project with some classmates of mine and I wanted to show it off. We took a dataset of thousands of conspiracy theory articles -- Miani et al's LOCO Corpus -- and went about analyzing it to find out how different conspiracy theories connect to each other.I'd encourage everyone to take a look at the full article because there are some fun visualizations in there,...

Hi all, I'm a software engineer-turned grad student (Duke - MS Econ/CS) set to graduate in May and looking to start a job in July. I've got about four years of software experience, plus two of research/data experience. I'm mostly interested in data science jobs or adjacent (i.e. data engineering or ML engineering). That said, I could be open to the right backend or full-stack software job if the problem space is interesting enough.

Hi all, Im Logan. I'm graduating from Duke University's MS in Economics and CS in May. I'm ideally looking for data science or adjacent jobs, but could be convinced to take the right software engineer job.

I've got about four years of SWE experience including frontend, backend, and some data engineering, plus a bunch of academic data science/research experience.

Hit me up if that sounds like experience you need!
