Re:Apple introduces the new 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M6 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @01:58PM (#50263182)
Liquid Glass was not a "small UI change". It disrupted many accessibility aspects of macOS, so much so that Apple toned down quite a few aspects of the design in subsequent updates, even adding a slider to reduce the effect. [1]

The quantity of requests for how to disable Liquid Glass on Apple Discussions is staggering. [2]

It's the daily schedule I want. The exercise lasts 12 days and has a variable daily schedule that is posted day-of exclusively on Twitter. I have no interest in Twitter; I just want to know what time they'll fly by.
Unfortunately not a luxury for all events.

Some organizations only post information on Twitter, especially those with limited resources. And if their followers are themselves limited in number, then that information is not disseminated.

For example, the Dutch Air Force is currently posting updates on their ongoing airborne exercise exclusively on Twitter: https://www.defensie.nl/onderwerpen/f/falcon-leap

Re:Ukrainian Drone Holds Position for 6 Weeks on Wednesday April 01, 2026 @06:16PM (#47607244)
It is a drone. But "drone" by itself is primarily used to refer to aircraft. I thought the title referred to some sort of ultra-endurance aircraft.

Merriam-Webster defines drone as "uncrewed aircraft or vessel"; Cambridge limits it to "aircraft". When the drone is not an aircraft, it's often preceded with its type: for example, "underwater drone" or "ground drone".

Re:uBlock filter list to hide all YouTube Shorts on Saturday February 14, 2026 @03:14PM (#47017942)
I read this as "The default uBlock filter list will change to hide all YouTube Shorts".
I prefer when artists make music they intrinsically want to make — not what others want them to make.
Flying a camera drone with such proximity and acceleration would be a safety nightmare.

Safari can't be upgraded past a certain point on older versions of macOS. That can cause certain websites to break. Minor but annoying.
Re:Anyone have experiences with Audio Induction Loops? on Thursday January 08, 2026 @12:01PM (#46543412)
No hearing aid magnification comes close if the induction loop is properly installed and integrated with the PA system. With an induction loop it's as if the microphone is directly connected to the hearing aid.
