I wandered around the planet for a year (American). Totally worth every second (and every penny).

My dad started his own company that does physics simulations. Most of his customers are labs and universities. I don't think he's hiring (he's the only employee), but if you shoot him an email, he might be able to give you some advice.

His name is Jon. Email: [email protected]

Re:Ask HN: Payment API on Tuesday July 27, 2010 @11:44PM (#1553520)
That's something I've heard. Worrying, but if there isn't any competition...

Ask HN: Payment API

The little business I'm working on centers around paying users small amounts of money (< $20). I see that PayPal has an API for this (Adaptive Payments API).Is this a good option, or are there better options? Also, the lower the fees, the happier I am.

Re:Has Dell Dropped Ubuntu Linux? on Sunday July 25, 2010 @08:13PM (#1546680)
Not really. Windows still lacks one of Ubuntu's killer features (package management), and virus scanners don't always work.

That and a Linux terminal is much nicer to work with than Command Prompt.

Re:Genetic algorithms in Python, a tutorial on Sunday July 18, 2010 @01:48AM (#1525316)
This seemed like a tutorial for people who already understand genetic algorithms. I want to understand genetic algorithms.

Anyone know some good beginner tutorials or explanations?

I think that exists as a spray. Basically a clear coat, but highly reflective.

I don't know if this one is legit, but I've heard of at least one brand that is. http://www.photoblocker.com/

Erm. Isn't it possible to transmit data that way, specifically by affecting the state of one particle, and observing the other?
I do believe there have been experiments that have successfully transmitted data via quantum entanglement.

I don't really feel like digging up a source at the moment though.

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on today? on Friday July 09, 2010 @11:18AM (#1500891)
Working on PyQt development for my employer, and when I get home, a bit of Django for a webapp I'm building with a friend.
