I'm a senior full-stack developer with 25+ years of experience, working remotely with US companies since 1999. I'm looking for a remote senior engineering role, full-time or contract.

My core stack is Python/Django and TypeScript/React, with a strong backend foundation and extensive AWS experience. I've architected a multi-tenant RAG platform with AI agents and third-party integrations, using Python, pgvector, and the OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini APIs. I've also built healthcare EHR systems, fraud detection tools, and gaming platforms.

I've led development teams and mentored engineers, and I remain hands-on with architecture and implementation.

Re:An Update on Leaving Gmail for Fastmail on Monday August 17, 2026 @08:44PM (#49339710)
I was paying for Google Business for my family, and then decided to switch to iCloud, but left only my own account on Google, because of that reason. Also, some services requires you to log in with a Business Google account, regular gmail accounts don't work (ie: Granola).

I’m using Capacities and I love it. Great team.

I came to say something similar.

I don't like conventional commits much neither, but let the people use whatever they want!

Show HN: ANSI Saver for Apple TV

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ansi-saver/id6762137767

A while back I posted the macOS version here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47288007Now there's a tvOS version. The interesting part was getting artpacks onto an Apple TV without a keyboard, the app runs a small web server on your local network, so you upload packs or browse 16colo.rs from your phone and the TV plays from cache.Paid this time; the macOS version stays free and open...

Ah, yes, I’m not able to test in Intel Macs. Will try to make it available to lower macOS versions at least.

Show HN: ANSI-Saver – A macOS Screensaver

https://github.com/lardissone/ansi-saver

Hi, I've been working on something I've been thinking for long time but since I had no experience with macOS screen savers I always posponed. Now thanks to Claude I was able to create a screensaver that scroll ANSI files while your computer is idle.It allow to use local ANS files or packs directly from 16colo.rs.Repo: https://github.com/lardissone/ansi-saver

Re:Show HN: Fieldnotes on Sunday February 15, 2026 @11:34PM (#47030936)
I’ve been doing that with Day One. Leaving notes in a journal for location related notes. Nice to see a project that focus only on that.
I still can't believe this is still an issue. When lazy-loading/infinite-scroll appeared main problem was that your footer shouldn't contain any actionable information. And people still makes fall into the same issue years after.
Re:We still build with Ruby in 2025 on Thursday August 21, 2025 @11:13AM (#44973805)
I've been working with Django/Python for many years, and around 10 years switched to JS stack, because of work (and because I read HN too much).

Last year finally convinced me that the entire JS community is sick, they want to re-invent the wheel all the time and making new libraries obsolete in months. So I started to use Django again. Most of the things needed for MVPs or prototypes are covered by their admin panel, thn when I need to build a front, I decide if use views or a simple frontend (next.js, svelte, etc) that communicates to my API.

Re:Johnny.Decimal – A system to organise your life on Monday February 24, 2025 @03:34PM (#43164628)
ok, it's been a few days now using it, and I'm starting to love it. Specially their API access, so I can send my voice note transcriptions to my daily note.

The custom object types is great, I missed that feature from Anytype in other tools.

The only drawback is that they didn't implemented an import from other platforms tool. And I have all my history and notes on Logseq now.

Re:Johnny.Decimal – A system to organise your life on Friday February 21, 2025 @12:00PM (#43129950)
Tried that, but I would like outliner mode to be the default. Instead of writing a `-` at the beginning of the line.

Anyway, I'll give a better try. Thanks.

Re:Johnny.Decimal – A system to organise your life on Friday February 21, 2025 @11:27AM (#43129435)
I'm trying a lot of tools, but I end up using Logseq. It's amazing.

Only bad thing is their mobile app, it's so bad.

Re:Johnny.Decimal – A system to organise your life on Friday February 21, 2025 @11:26AM (#43129419)
I just tried it, looks good. But TBH, I miss outlining. I would like they offer a way to have an outlining mode (with collapsing ability). Thanks for the recommendation.
