Ask HN: Using X vs. LinkedIn?

In X, I see it's easy to go viral and stuff and there seems to be engagement if you are consistent (and can pay for the plan and do hot takes)while in linkedin, I saw many posts on how linkedin people often don't engage but then reach out when they have a problemAnyone here who tried both, do let me know what's working for you folks

Also related context - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48729630 that made me think of this
Tho if you are open to sharing, what are you trying to market? Maybe if an idea comes up, I can let you know
oh okay, so incase this helps with knowing atleast what's not working:

I know people say cold emails work, but it's brutal and goes to spam most often than not. Maybe it works when you are emailing as a person talking of something and it's low these days too, but trying anywhere near selling even if it's something that would help them a lot it's gone.

Content marketing - I have to check more of the latest report to say this. But the post hyper specific blogs/information isn't working at least when you are targeting AI savvy users cuz most use AI overviews or similar

Micro tools - there are too many to compete with and AI makes up one so easily these days

Communities in slack/reddit advise when you are selling to B2B has become shovel sellers echo chamber instead of gold miners, it's everyone trying to pitch

Something I do see working, just because there is AI doesn't mean everyone want to take the overhead of creating pushing it up and maintaining, at least in few communities I have seen they are very much open to solutions, but there is not as much paying power.

I am sorry if I sound pessimistic, I would love if someone could prove this wrong lol.

Distribution is the hardest rn and most marketing advice is absolute with AI.

So would love to know if something is working tbh

Was wondering about this too, claude tag comes with only the team plan

I am thinking, maybe a joint account with one or so more who has sub 5?

I was reading through this article too, glad to have found it on here

Ask HN: What's Been Your Experience Implementing Web Accessibility?

I have been thinking about how implementing accessibility itself is inaccessible to most of devs who aren't in a huge company with dedicated a11y or UX teamsI would love to know what you all think, like the tools which help implement it?I am talking of Developer Experience in a sense? Like we have so many clis / frameworks / libraries to help with other stuff we have to do, being the brilliant...

Thank you for letting us know of it here—sent them a pitch on the hidden vision math in color contrast fixes (FOSS lib: https://github.com/comfort-mode-toolkit/cm-colors). Fingers crossed! :>
ooh this is better than the one I thought, instead of trying to create an accessible framework I guess it's easy both on adoption end to make existing frameworks have an accessible version

I tried running an experiment on this, like how much of forms can be automated ( in terms of aria roles, adding a label when we can recoognise it's a sign up form etc ), I am still researching on what can be safely automated and what must NOT be at any cost, But yeah, like you said discovery is a bigger barrier, maybe a website which hosts collections of all foss a11y tools will help?

Re:Ask HN: How to hedge against an AI downturn? on Tuesday December 02, 2025 @09:23AM (#46121454)
Not into investments, but I do feel like AI is more of a shift the way cars were from bullock carts - So most probably it wouldn't take over to the point of AGU anytime soon ( especially w.r.t to hardware robotic AI models ) anytime soon But neither would it disappear, we will just have a slightly modernised way to work than we would have than if AI wasn't there
Hey how's this different from usual github tracking? Does it sync with github issues? Looks interesting, will check this out
How do we bridge the gap between ideals and implementation? There are loads of tools out there for enterprises, but what about startups, devs and students? What tools can make it easier for the everyday people who don't have the resources to build a custom ship across the ocean?

How do we make web accessibility doable for devs with zero a11y budget?

Most of us don’t work at companies that can afford dedicated accessibility teams or weeks of audits. We still want the app/blog/tool we ship to be readable by actual humans, but opening WCAG feels like drowning. Big companies build their own ships across the accessibility ocean. The rest of us are standing on the shore with a hammer and some planks. What tools, checks, or one-line fixes would...

Show HN: Cm-colors –I got tired of manually fixing wcag contrast,so I made this

https://github.com/comfort-mode-toolkit/cm-colors

I usually look up palettes and the UI comes out nice except some color pairs don't pass wcag color contrast and well - just isn't readable Ended up writing a tiny library that automatically nudges your text color just enough to pass AA or AAA, while keeping it visually similar to the original along with a color contrast linter so we can use it in CI Thought you guys might find it useful too,...
