Re:Bunny CDN Security Incident on Friday October 30, 2026 @05:57PM (#50310680)
is it only me or those security incidents on front page are kinda out of control?

maybe it's my brain just primed or attacks picked up pace recently

Underrated joke
They probably not allowed, because of NDA

it's one of my favourite songs of all time

Just checked the capabilities of motion graphics with claude opus 5.5, manim, remotion, threejs and had to share. Really impressed by what could be achieved in 300k tokens

Tbh I think you are right. The problem is now striking the right balance, like we don’t need everybody to know how to build each part of smartphone or chip, but there should be significant group with that ability. This will be a huge challenge
Re:It's still OK to enjoy programming on Monday October 19, 2026 @03:04PM (#50156540)
for a long time, I was roasted on HN for seeing any capabilities in programing ai. Recently tables turned and more people see that ai is not leaving and will stay with us
Re:It's still OK to enjoy programming on Monday October 19, 2026 @03:03PM (#50156517)
underrated analogy to claiming Santa Claus being real by nephew. lmao

it's hard to be swayed into skeptic camp if you see how it works and it really solves those hard problems that took hours. Genie is out of the bottle

Re:Everything Is Rust Now (Official Tech Diss Track) [video] on Thursday October 15, 2026 @02:13PM (#50107808)
Just some programming humour. Yes, I know I used AI, really aware of that. But it's for fun as commentary on current state
Re:Netflix is laying off roughly 6% of its workforce on Thursday October 15, 2026 @10:54AM (#50104589)
why it's not on the front page oh HN? It doesn't matter anymore when 1k people are fired from big tech
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @04:33PM (#50078298)
I did at the beginning, but there is only so much you can take, and no one cares if you have read books and seen it before. There were a bunch of programmers whom I thought would understand em dashes, but they did not and said no one uses such dashes only normal hyphens.

Em dashes ended up as one of the first victims of llm age

Re:The Mathocalypse on Thursday October 08, 2026 @11:15AM (#50006834)
they are Lean certified, so in theory they should work. It's automated programming language for proving math, but it doesn't mean that you can't make mistakes there, although way less likely
I got restricted on X for making fun of Matt Pocock ai methods like GRILL ME while having verified account and paying subscription. It's back to normal, but it was demotivating experience and I stopped caring about X
My best guess was that video would be the last frontier, but I think I was naive about that too. The amount of content we’re producing right now and the changes coming to YouTube (allowing A/B testing of video edits). For example plan is to test multiple intros to retain the audience, might offer a glimpse into the endgame.
Re:What About Rails? on Friday September 25, 2026 @09:55AM (#49844732)
You're fucking rails programmer. You're the best of of the best. This is goddman Top Gun I'm looking at here -- DHH, Rails World 2026 opening keynote, moments before calling everyone loser
I really like the direction Topcoat is going in as a Rails developer. Although it is just a bit itchy to my eyes, it is not acid-level, though.

The things that look great are LiveView and getting rid of boilerplate for client-side reactivity

Re:Rails World 2026 Opening Keynote [video] on Thursday September 24, 2026 @05:03PM (#49836685)
When I started as rails dev in 2013, it was really the top solution for producing MVP fast. Now, I don’t think that’s the case and most of the incentives are gone if we are no longer writing code by hand
Re:Rails World 2026 Opening Keynote on Thursday September 24, 2026 @11:58AM (#49832565)
also worth noting that hotwire is dead according to DHH in this talk. The rendering html server side is old way now
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Thursday September 24, 2026 @06:09AM (#49828509)
that's a killer name
Re:Rails World 2026 Opening Keynote on Thursday September 24, 2026 @05:55AM (#49828419)
it's funeral of Ruby on Rails
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @09:51AM (#49696890)
I don't know if it counts as a project, but I just posted my first YouTube video yesterday after spending 100 hours learning about cameras, audio, and video editing in Final Cut Pro. I just want to share my thoughts on programming and tech in general, and doing that on a blog has become much harder nowadays because trust in written content has been lost.

Re:Logo Programming Language on Friday September 11, 2026 @11:55AM (#49660543)
tbh, sounds like a made-up term coined by someone who could go on and on
Re:Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood? on Friday September 11, 2026 @11:50AM (#49660457)
Yep, HN loves/loved Ruby :)
Re:Logo Programming Language on Friday September 11, 2026 @11:04AM (#49659700)
same problem, it wasn't exaclty the best experience with first programming language
Re:Logo Programming Language on Friday September 11, 2026 @10:13AM (#49658778)
I didn't win logo programming competition in polish equivalent of 7th grade and I am still salty about it
