Re:Heroku down for production and staging apps on Friday September 13, 2013 @11:35AM (#6381131)
I'm running a production webapp since May on the Heroku EU region, not a scratch since then. It's a Beta suited for production apps since February:

"Beta Testers,

Heroku Europe is ready to begin running your production apps!

Create an app in the region:

    $ heroku create --region eu
Then add add-ons, deploy, and scale as usual. Please note we're still adding capacity in this area, so contact us if you expect to run more than 30 dynos or do more than 500 reqs/second on any app in Europe.

As always, private betas should be considered confidential. Please don’t tweet, blog, or talk about this feature publicly until we announce it ourselves.

Best,

The Heroku Team"

IMO docker is made to deliver plug'n'play apps/components. I think sentiment analysis API is a good example. I hope it will create new virtuous loops: easier to install => more people playing with => more feedback => easier for devs to improve the sentiment analysis => improved versions deliveries => docker pull. Your thoughts? Any feedback on the analysis quality?

Running w/ docker 0.6.1 on EC2 ubuntu instances behind an ELB. Pretty cool docker.io use case: docker run sguignot/textblob-api-server

Well, lesson learned.

> What happens next? Hard to tell without precise context, but: as far as I can tell, your company just needs money (paid customers I guess); you cannot be good at your (too many) jobs? Fine, if your company is B2B there is only 1 job to get done right now: business development, if you cannot do it yourself, let's find the best business dev guy you can in your industry. BTW "biz dev" is the only kind of guy I can sincerely hate and love at the same time; that's how I recognize them.

My 2 cents.

Congrats, you guys rock!
