yeah we've done some unironically questionable things over the centuries.

Ask HN: iOS devs, how long does Apple take to approve your apps?

Feel like i've been waiting for days and they keep rejecting for silly things. The first time they randomly rejected and said "Your app does not need login services. Let users freely roam and use the features of the app"???anyways I explained to them why there's a gamification aspect in the app and users level up after a task they do. Then they agreed that its fine to have a login option, but...

Show HN: Dolph AI – A Focus App That Rewards You with AI Chat Time

https://www.trydolph.com/

Hey HN,I built Dolph AI — a focus timer for students that mixes deep work with a little AI fun.The idea is simple: 25 minutes of uninterrupted study time followed by 5 minutes of chatting with an AIThe goal is to train focus, not just track it. I built this because I noticed students (myself included) often struggle to stay off our phones — especially with AI becoming more engaging than ever....

Ask HN: How do I find a cofounder?

TLDR; I am technical, built a product myself last weekend, cold emailed 100s of potential users n got 3 users already (so crazy i love it :D).1 of the 3 users absolutely loves (not likes, loves) the product. It solves a very core niche problem for the blue collar industry. He loves it to the point he already referred to his friends in the industry and we got on a 1 hr call today, he wants more...

Ask HN: What are your honest thoughts on AI tools replacing programmers

I've been coding since 9yo. Thats 2/3rds of my life. These days all I build is agents and ai tools using windsurf.i find myself building some new niche tool almost daily. so the notion of ai "replacing programmers" seems kinda odd because most of my friends and I just still build stuff and jump in to tweak code here and there. our desire to build stuff and be on our IDEs every day still hasnt...

Appreciate your feedback! So, one thing about the blue collar industry specially in field services is that they wanna spend most amount time doing blue collar work and the least amount time doing admin stuff.

I showed this to a couple service providers (1 handyman, 1 electrician) and they loved it. So hopefully theres a big market there of people that would find this useful. Over time I can build more agentic features or even build this into an entire intelligent agentic CRM for the blue collar industry. Lets see where it goes :)

Hey HN, I built Tools Ai over the weekend to help service providers (electricians, landscapers, plumbers, etc.) generate fast, professional job quotes.

Most pros type job scopes like:

“Replace 200A panel, 3 hours labor, surge protection, bond to code.”

Tools Ai takes that and outputs:

A clean client-facing quote Labor + materials breakdown Estimated pricing Summary paragraph Optional PDF download (coming soon) It saves time, looks more professional, and helps small contractors close work faster. First 3 quotes are free. Would love feedback from builders or anyone who's worked in field services, blue-collar SaaS, or productized workflows.

Built with GPT-4, Flask, and raw frustration from watching people still quote in Notes app or Word templates.

Thanks!

Re:PantherAI – One dashboard for all your AI models on Saturday March 22, 2025 @11:20PM (#43450669)
Hacked together a dashboard that lets you use all the top AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, etc.) in one spot. No tab-hopping, just a clean interface to talk to any of them.

Was scratching my own itch, but folks seem to be finding it useful.

Here’s the link: https://pantherai-irol.onrender.com

Would love your take, even if it’s “meh.” Always building, always learning.
