I spent my 42nd birthday generating 100% pure AI slop.I adapted Machiavelli The Prince to the Silicon Valley context, using Sonnet. It took a 6-hour+ non-strop spree to write a 81 pages, and it's kind of an instructive read!Rather than making any line edits, I was able to share high level feedback over the first few chapters and keep regenerating. This process was awesome - I could be extremely...
delightful mental pain, like a cold plunge
This is one of my favorite reads in a while
can’t read article without constantly clicking ads, blocked toms hardware
yeah i have this. didnt officially verify but i noticed that theres a direct correlation between hours i am in bed and how rested i feel, even if i feel like i spent the time awake. So i stopped specifically worrying about whether i’m asleep or awake and instead focus on enjoying the break
this person just wants perplexity
this is the correct order of operations for sure
I’m not in the same place, but I do find it still surprising at age 40 you can flail around randomly in a city and discover entirely new areas of life that fully captivate your interest. The other day someone invited me to join a math club and now it’s my favorite part of my week. I hadn’t thought about math since I was 15. but that’s example one of dozens. not that anyone’s asking, but I think if anyone isn’t feeling satisfied they can easily try very random things and find some satisfaction and that’s what I would recommend
Cheaper rides, very obviously

The AI vs human wars begin
These are really good and have become my only vice. Somehow they’re much better than the real drinks
It seems to be South Dakota and Iowa that killed this
Compare to Twitter which has reduced the differentiation between a long form article and an unsourced image and you’ll find that Google News is nevertheless much superior to any other way to get information (though twitter was superior last year!)
Hah, I actually finally started using Google News after 10 years because it looks like Twitter 2023 is effectively completely broken for news. I was grateful that at least we could revert to 10 years ago, now our current best mechanism of finding truth
I changed my mind - mastodon.social was easy to use
Mastodon is hard to use. Just compare it to Threads, it’s not subjective that way. I think that’s the whole answer.
I helped create this using
https://www.epsilla.com/ which is an incredibly good vector search tool. Our long covid guidance got 10x better when we switched to it!
Got a web version here, check it out and let us know if it’s helpful to you:

It is not a very well done feature. It is among the most deterministic pieces of software I have ever used. Tella.tv and Screen Studio are well done pieces of software, but not Loom
create a team of AIs with cute names
Grass is greener. I don’t read very much because I prefer learning through trial and error when doing because I’m certain most ideas on the internet are wrong anyway (especially regarding programming). This is a limitation, and a middle ground approach is probably actually optimal. Which maybe I do because I still read extremely highly recommended things referred by people I know
