Re:Slack Code on Thursday August 20, 2026 @11:18AM (#49375880)
When we can code in English, now we can code in group chats.

Maybe it’s the future. Where I can join to coding/spec driven channels to observe or help.

I would do this - coding/spec driven in public. Hope it will be the future.

It would allow also non devs to join.

Re:Ask HN: CSV with Formulas on Wednesday January 01, 2025 @03:50PM (#42569183)

Good points thanks. Will rad about TK solver.

The question is about the use case and how much technical people are.

Excel format is bad because it’s not clear simple text in the raw text format. Also for simple local database with not that much data.

CSV with quirks could be edited with any text editor, put into LLM, shared, GIT history edits. That’s also the benefits of local notes in filesystem in MD format (oobsidian).

Problem with plain CSV is that I can’t do any formatting even the simplest or make simple formulas. I could make calculations using DuckDB or something but it have friction.

Ask HN: CSV with Formulas

I'm thinking about creating library to render and manipulte CSV.But it should have ability to use formulas, like =SUM(A:A) or =SUM(A1:A-CURRENT-1)And optionall formating maybe at the end of the cell {cell-css: {color: red, font-size: 28px}} or {row-css: {color: red, font-size: 28px}} (CSS attributes)Why?I want to create local personal databases. But a little more powerful than plain CSV.Text...

I am the owner of TimeCamp app that can track usage of desktop apps.

75% of office workers that use Google Chrome use Notepad++ on Windows.

I made a Shortcut + PHP to get text from a screenshot, ask ChatGPT to make a task name from text, and create new task in Clickup and attache a screenshot. Use it often.
Re:How Not to Do Time Tracking for Software Developers on Wednesday February 20, 2019 @10:06AM (#19208350)
I created https://www.timecamp.com that can track processes, window titles and url (free). Those informations presented visually can help make better timesheets :)

Re:Simple Invoicing Online – free forever on Friday May 23, 2014 @04:53AM (#7788518)
Hi, thanks for comments. In fact invoicing will be free. But we want to build another set of features around this like powerfull time tracking, and charging that. So it will be like freemium model.
Thanks, it motivated us to make the layout simpler.
This is our second post in a series of posts. We want to share those lessons in further posts, because we feel that for this moment we don’t have enough learned to write about this.
Interesting case study. I think we will write in couple of months how it ended in TimeCamp. Did you have clear goal and saw how this statistics was used and if it was usefull?
Re:Show HN: My time tracking tool for your text editor on Monday July 15, 2013 @12:55PM (#6046803)

Vacations to Canada to visit my family (3 weeks). I think I could learn and feel startups culture there.

I have a friend that was visiting silicon valley, and I was amazed by his stories.

But funding will be probably the topic on the plate that time. We are starting getting some traction, and want to sell scale it. Polish enterprise market is not big enough probably.
