Reading your responses it seems like your angle is to fake looking like a human by using the blue bubble. Are you worried your users will ruin the trust of the blue bubble thus killing your product with your product?
A few years back I bought a MBP online with the pickup option. I picked it up, declined their assistance setting it up and went about my day.
I get home later that day, start to set it up and it’s locked to employees of a bank in Canada. Live support is no help so I take it back, only to find out the serial number did not match that on the box. They had their security guard quietly come stand near me until they figured out what they wanted to do.
The sales guy told me since they can’t prove I stole it they were giving me a different one. I think they knew it was previously returned and realized they got scammed by someone else the first time around.
This time I made sure I could login before I left.
Within the return window the new 16” came out at the same price so I took it in and swapped it for the 16”. They just took it, handed me the new laptop, transferred Apple Care and sent me on my way. It made sense as they didn’t bother to verify the box/device serial number with me. They took my word and processed everything in a matter of minutes.
I bought one from them about 3 months ago and it was excellent.
I couldn’t get a local dealership to give me the sticker price of a car on their website without showing up in person. I expected all the extra fees they throw in to be hidden but all they would post was MSRP and to call for the price. I call and they pretend to not know the car I am talking about and need to go there to see the specific car. This was multiple dealers.
Carvana though showed me the price, shipping if any, taxes, tag, title before I even tried to buy it.
I get the "We're sorry!" page on this link, but when I go to console.aws.amazon.com it works.
They check the referrer, see it's from HN and redirect to an image instead.
So by copy + paste into a new tab, it will lose the HN referrer.
I've been in a hand full of k-12 schools where there are no stall doors. You can walk in the bathroom and make eye contact with someone who has their pants around their ankles.
It will be out with dotnet 6 later this year.
Ha! I worked at a place where every Monday I had to count the number of commits each team member made and put them on a weekly report.
Once the company got bought, my new boss in charge of all developers across all divisions asked me to not mention that again so he doesn't have to do that. Once I moved on, it sounds like ParentCo took a more active role in the development and hopefully they stopped that.
I used that for some mortgage documents (pre-closing) that they could email me, but needed a 'wet' signature. I happened to be out of town so accessing a printer and scanner wasn't easy.
I used Preview for the longest time before they questioned 1 of the documents.
Yes and no. I have received a handful of requests from lawyers to remove their clients charges from a news aggregator I ran. All of them had their charges dropped but when potential employers were searching them online they would come across the booking information.
Our sheriff department has come by asking people on our street if we have footage of a car they were looking for. The driver was going door to door checking door handles and took off when confronted by someone at home.
In my case, it was the HD receiver. The Comcast guy was surprised I asked for a receipt, and was shocked when I checked the serial number on the modem vs what was on the receipt. They matched, as they should.
Then they still tried to ding me for an unreturned equipment and when I called they said 'it takes 2 - 3 months for it to come off your account'. It eventually did fall off, but was insane for hand delivering it to Comcast/Xfinity.
PHPStorm is what I use and hear a lot of. After Zend Studio switched over to Eclipse, I moved to Sublime Text, then PHPStorm/JetBrains
I haven't heard of people using Netbeans for PHP in ages. I don't know if PHPStorm still has their Early Access program, but it basically gave you a free 30 day build of their beta version. Within 30 days there was a new build and the ticker started over again.
YouTrack -
https://www.jetbrains.com/youtrack/?fromMenuIt's pretty extensible and I find it easier to use than Jira.
My complaints aren't necessarily against Jira the software, but the way it got setup at my org. It seemed more for stat building for the PMs to show during their annual review.
Saw we were generally unhappy working with our biggest client. When the client called for a pricing review with us, and other agencies for their "go to" team, my boss decided to not participate and part ways with the client. Thy were shocked to say the least.
Thanks! I never even noticed you could do that when they switched to the new design.
Looks like it's working again.
We ran into this and finally made the switch this morning to an HVM ami. The performance has been much better.
We started seeing issues on Dec 23rd, with HDD reads and it magically went away the night of Jan 1st. The cpu loads remained high though.
For a credit card company their support was amazing. I had a few issues with the 2fa SMS being delayed and they answered within a couple minutes.
Wow it must have just went up. I looked and saw nothing.

I just had a Lexmark tell me cyan, yellow and magenta were low, which was fine since the document I was printing was black text with 2 exceptions for arrows where to sign in red.
It printed all the text in orange and the 2 arrows were a perfect red.
If you are around northern Colorado, they give tours of their place.
It wasn't a bad drive. This guy just really hated his 1hr drive at a previous company so assumed his employees would also hate it and not like the job.
Recruiter: "Dave the Cxx is a great guy and will really like you."
..fast forward to the interview..
Recruiter: "Dave, it's nice to meet you."
It turns out Dave did like me, but he specifically asked for someone local and I had a 45 minute commute. At that point neither of us were sure why I was there.
I had some family come out recently and my brother lost his ID a day or 2 before the trip. When going through security on his return flight home, I watched him get taken to the front of line for the scanning machine, ran through these databases right next to the scanners and was cleared a lot faster than other members in my family going through the normal process.
A recruiter setup an interview for me about an hour or so south of where I live. He talked up how great of a person the C
is. I show up early and wait for the recruiter. He showed 10 minutes AFTER the interview was suppose to start and only then actually met the C
person.
I started talking to the interviewer and found out that one of the main things on his list for a candidate was to be local. Within 5 minutes we both knew this wasn't going anywhere and wrapped it up.
