The "like" button at the bottom of this article cracks me up.

Re:9.2% Unemployment? Blame Microsoft. on Monday July 18, 2011 @03:29PM (#2777779)
I don't think seed money is the problem. You start a company in the cloud using basic plans that total to $0/month.
Re:Code Quarterly's Interview with Rich Hickey on Thursday June 09, 2011 @07:47PM (#2639201)
It's not about reading, it's about doing.

Re:Unholy: _why's Ruby to Python compiler on Monday March 14, 2011 @03:56AM (#2321704)
Why not just use JRuby over Groovy?
I feel videos are more hopeful for the people seeking help on these topics.
Re:How the FBI raided Anonymous on Friday January 28, 2011 @06:00PM (#2153861)
"We have noted that similar attacks have also been carried out against Wikileaks itself, yet so far, nobody has been arrested in connection with these attacks, nor are there even any signs of an investigation into this issue at all,"

I think that is one of the most important points of this article.

Re:Ask HN: Is it worth $60k and four years? on Thursday January 27, 2011 @01:16AM (#2146821)
You could always do your entrepreneurial things you wish and go back to school later. Mind you, it gets tougher each year to go back. But really, what's from stopping you from doing what you want? There is no need to "fall in" to the norms. Do what you want. It's your life.

I will say, though, that you miss many opportunities if you choose to pass up on school. I would take the advice of others and pick a major you truly enjoy. College is for you. It is not high school. Please, do what makes you happy, not what makes your parents happy. You are now grown up. Welcome to the world of responsibility and decision making. It's fun. Enjoy :)

If you look at the pictures, it seems he is in shaded area. Thus, no sun to worry about.
Re:The Next Big Language on Wednesday January 26, 2011 @08:07PM (#2146085)
I think you would see JRuby used as an industry de facto before you would see Scala.

I apologize -- I misunderstood.
Re:The Next Big Language on Wednesday January 26, 2011 @03:03PM (#2144865)
If he still believes in what he said in this article, he probably likes it but does not think it will be the "Next Big Language".
Re:Twitter Confirms That They’re Being Blocked In Egypt on Wednesday January 26, 2011 @12:43AM (#2142312)
I think it's more along the lines of the Egyptian government is blocking twitter because they saw how social networking effected the same type of incident in Tunisia. They are scared.

"But the important thing is the concept, not the expression"

Nailed it.

Re:The End Of Facebook and Free Software's Quiet Revolution on Tuesday January 25, 2011 @08:15PM (#2141685)
What's the point of trying to own all that information if not for money?
Re:The End Of Facebook and Free Software's Quiet Revolution on Tuesday January 25, 2011 @05:51PM (#2141291)
This is how I have always felt. I think Facebook's best move is to be that "popular hub". Turn from evil to good. But, of course, they wont. Zuck likes money.
Re:Vertically split tabs coming to iTerm2 on Friday December 17, 2010 @07:20PM (#2018439)
tmux and screen can do this and they are not OS X dependent
This is disgusting.
USA: If anything you change it for the future because you contributed to the statistics of party X or person Y. How would we know 10 people stilled liked something if they didn't vote for it? Seeds can be planted this way.
Re:How to make Textmate rock. on Wednesday November 10, 2010 @01:31AM (#1889414)
I used TextMate and I was pretty good at it. I switched to VIM. I'm a terrible VIM-er but I'm already faster and more productive. I am not saying you should switch...I'm just saying you should switch.
