know-how

I read that Iran was enriching weapons-grade uranium for peaceful purposes.
Yea, why don't we let the most destabilizing state sponsor of terrorism obtain a nuke? Surely that's only in Israel's interest...

You know, none of this would have happened if Hamas didn't attack Israel on Oct 7. Iran should know. They paid for it.

If Iran had a nuke, they are crazy enough to use it by slipping it to their cells.

"If someone says they are going to kill you, believe them."

Iran: Death to Israel Iran: Death to America Hamas: Death to Israel Hamas: Death to America

So, hugs and pallets of cash? ...or you destroy their ability to kill a million of your civilians.

If their enrichment wasn't for weapons-development, why was it being done in a hardened under-ground bunker?

In 2023, unannounced inspections uncovered uranium particles enriched near weapons-grade. The so-called agreement was toilet paper to the terrorist state.

Only an academic could write something like this;

"But it’s even better to treat love itself as the most important work."

Your mortgage servicer doesn't accept love as payment.

Considering there have been over 170 dire climate predictions since the 1960s, and none of them have ever come close to coming to pass, I think we'll be ok.
Do communists ever come up with any ideas of their own, or do they just steal them?
Depends on the political science. If it benefits democrats, the illegal stuff is ignored, re: the import of 20,000,000 illegal immigrants, giving them $3000/month, and evicting 90 year old veterans so illegals have someplace to stay while they beg on the streets. All this while shipping pallets of cash to other countries, and giving Helene victims just $750. The priorities are all screwed up.
Meanwhile we got an experimental "vaccine" that doesn't cure or prevent disease, but does cause weird cancers, blood clots, and other effects.
Only a child brings their activism to work. Do the job you were hired to do; it is your livelihood and how you survive. Their priorities are all mixed up, but I can't fault them too much. Such people were raised by others who told them that their feelings matter more than objective reality.
Re:US judge throws out FTC's ban on non-compete agreements on Wednesday August 21, 2024 @07:08AM (#41309047)
This makes no sense. You mean the evil businesses owners, dressed in all black, sneak into her backdoor in the middle of the night carrying burlap sacks embroidered with the money emblem on them? You can't presume to know what anyone thinks.
Sounds like you're being overly-dramatic.

We can, and should absolutely threaten bad actors, state or otherwise.

The alternative is to keep letting US citizens get scammed.

A government's mandate is the protection of its citizens.

The scam call volume alone from India steals 10 BILLION annually from US Citizens.

Who said anything about war?

Yes, economic sanctions. Withhold money and make markets unavailable until local law enforcement addresses it.

How about we punish the bad actors and their state-sponsors?

Thanks. I noticed there is a little incongruency with the GoRails videos, although I only just starting looking. I've taught myself a bunch of things with PBL, so I'm a believer.

The rails.org guide is looking like a good start.

Found your comment on the topic from two years ago, funny enough.

That's encouraging. How long did it take you vs how much time invested in learning until you felt confident in your abilities? ...recognizing ofc that everyone learns and performs differently.

Thank you. I'm checking it out now.

Ask HN: Learning Ruby on Rails?

I want to learn ruby/rails. The goal is to become proficient to the point of developing tools & products. I understand first principles and have an EE background, but haven't done software development professionally. I have flexibility with schedule, but not looking to take full-time college courses. Thanks in advance for any tips or insights.
