We may never know.
Re:CNC Stone Carving on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @01:02PM (#50276802)
I don't see any reason that someone couldn't still enjoy working with the material with bare hands and simple tools to meditate, even with the automated stone carving. People still play chess even though AI dominates.
Because containers don't use Seccomp and Landlock and check filesystem/network calls against an externally applied policy along w/injecting credentials where needed as a man-in-the-middle, thus keeping the secrets out of reach from the LLM?
Re:Show HN: Gemini 4 Argon plays StarCraft on Friday October 16, 2026 @03:20PM (#50123161)
I can tell you why NOT Zerg. Zerg you have to do too many actions. Select the hatchery, select larvae, choose which unit to build. That extra select larvae step is a problem.

Huh? ARR has been monotonically increasing. Maybe you mean the ARR growth rate? Yes, that has been decreasing.

I haven't tried PDFCraft, but I'm willing to bet it isn't going to handle tables as well or offer signing.

Those customers are already pissed off, yet record sales every quarter. This will be great to offer this diminished experience to them until they start using AI to do all of their editing.

Adobe employee here. We have access to LLMs and tokens as well.
Re:AI is now capable of developing its own inference hardware on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @02:11PM (#49982019)
AI (GPT-Sol-6:xhigh) isn't even capable of using Altium to re-layout a board without introducing a bunch of problems by a user who isn't an electrical engineer or familiar with board layouts.
I think "The Church" (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is trying to keep Pornhub from publishing stats of how many ~people~ ~righteous Church members~ Melchizedek Priesthood holders are whacking to "cosplay porn" and "lesbian porn".

Dune: Awakening tried this. Was kind of fun while it lasted (and before the bug stole all of my resources I was trying to sell. The support was zero help on getting that resolved. That killed it for me immediately).

The big bang is a theory. It's not JUST a theory, however.
I think I mentioned the need for them to have committed a sufficiently egregious crime before imprisonment. You're jumping to a lot of extreme conclusions in a very short period of time.
Why not rent those out on vast.ai and make a little money each month?
Re:Why is Everyone in Tech so sad? on Friday August 07, 2026 @10:04AM (#49210621)
How long have you been working in tech?
I didn't say kill. Not sure if I believe we should go all Hunger Games on them. Prison works just fine for me when they commit crimes sufficiently egregious.
Sounds simple to me. Remove them from society.
Whoah, could this mean we can treat layers like a jpg, where we come up with a formula that estimates the weight values of a layer instead of storing all of the weights?
We're getting new models every three months. They'd have to work quickly to get those chips made and installed.
Re:OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom on Thursday June 25, 2026 @01:40PM (#48676816)
I'll update it this weekend with the updated AI-generated fun (and correct the flat-out ai-generated lies in the README). Meanwhile, you can see the project here. https://github.com/knicholes/ah-my-groin-button
Re:OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @06:36PM (#48666409)
Ohhhhhh! Yes, that's exactly the problem. It all makes sense now. I was just piecing together an existing microcontroller and a mp3 module by printing a custom circuit board.
Re:OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @04:19PM (#48665123)
I'll acknowledge that I don't know what I'm talking about. I really appreciated the clarity! Surely you find value in knowing that creating your own custom chips is almost doable by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about! (also, I am a troll, but in this case, just clueless)
Re:OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @03:04PM (#48664341)
Right. KiCAD for PCB design. Blender for 3D CAD. Oh, are you saying I should have used something other than the KiCAD MCP server for better results?
Re:OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @02:52PM (#48664174)
I tried making a button using Claude entirely (including the 3D printed enclosure) and it effed up pretty hard with the traces and the header spacing. The project was a big red arcade button that plays the "ah-my-groin.mp3" when pushed (from Simpsons). It did cool work on saving battery life, and the 3d enclosure was awesome, but yeah, I'm convinced I'd have to do another version or two of the custom chip until it came back right. I used a Blender MCP for the 3d modeling. I used a KiCAD MCP server for the chip design/validation.

I think we're not there yet. I've been meaning to look at this flux.ai to see if it has the prompts/workflow worked out better than what I was able to cobble together in a few hours. Maybe Alteryx's MCP server would have been better. I'll try that this weekend for another board I've got.
